Yet another Christmas-themed reunion 🎄 among "survivors" (by the way, thanks to everyone for the wonderful evening 🔝), this time at Taverna del Borgo, a place we'd actually already tried a couple of years ago with complete satisfaction 👍🏻. Arriving at 8:30 pm 🕣 with a reservation 📞, we were escorted to our table, already set for eight people, and sat down while waiting for everyone else to arrive. We then quickly moved on to ordering, unanimously opting directly for the house specialty (therefore without appetizers, so as to fully enjoy the bigoli). This time, however, the choice fell on individual portions (during our previous visit we had instead opted for a couple of shared courses), so everyone could choose their own taste. To complete the order, four assorted bottles of water 💧, a can of Coke and a liter of Pinot Noir (although indicated on the receipt as "Caberent", perhaps a variant of the more well-known "Cabernet, but so be it). My bigoli all'amatriciana 🍝 were undoubtedly very good 😋 (although not too al dente) as were all the other variations tried by the diners (carbonara, in sauce, white meats, prawns / cherry tomatoes / saffron cream and pumpkin / taleggio / mushrooms). Subsequently, the undersigned and our "Maestro" 👨🏻🦲 then tried their hand at a nice "cacio e pepe" (good, although the dressing perhaps lacked a little creaminess) encore. To conclude, six coffees ☕️ and a barley at the end of the meal. Excellent value for money too, considering that in We spent a total of €164 💶 (so €20.50 each). However, there's also something I didn't like about this: they don't issue separate bills. In particular, I didn't appreciate the attitude of the owner 👨🏻🦳 at the cashier, who, with an expression somewhere between indifferent and annoyed, simply pointed to the notice actually posted behind him. Granted, he has the right to deny this service, I also feel free to lower the overall rating in this review, especially since separate bills have become commonplace elsewhere. The fact remains that, given the substantial total, perhaps an exception could have been made. That said, we certainly had a wonderful evening.

The staff were friendly and courteous. The appetizers were delicious, and the selection of bigoli pasta was varied, with the mushroom ones being exquisite. The desserts were also very good. I'll definitely be back.

01/12/2025 Lunch on a business trip.
The atmosphere may seem a bit dated, but the welcome is very friendly, perhaps a little cold.
The menu is varied without being overwhelming. I chose to try the bigoli, for which they're famous, with a very simple meat sauce.
Well, amazing bigoli, delicious sauce, passed!

Bigoli are good. The ones with truffle and mushrooms are very garlicky, and there's little or no truffle.

Today, after 30 years, I returned with my sweetheart to my old Eurogendfor European Military Police base in Vicenza, where we used to go out and explore the local area. We found this trattoria with friendly and qualified staff, where waiters could be seen rushing around with traditional dishes that left a mouth-watering aroma. We were welcomed by a waitress with impeccable manners and tact. She treated us to appetizers including polenta with fresh porcini mushrooms and fondue, a huge and delicious plate of bigoli with sausage and pioppini mushrooms, a dish of authentic Venetian tripe and fresh sautéed artichokes—compliments to the chef—and the dessert and coffee, all homemade.
