A restorative dinner after the stop on the parks' bike path. The pappardelle with wild boar was excellent, and the fennel and radicchio salad was also good. The recommended Amaro liqueur was delicious! Highly recommended!

A welcoming location with masonry finishes and a fireplace typical of a mountain restaurant. Service is available to meet various needs. In our case, the appetizer was made with locally sourced produce, with the addition of fried mushrooms for a touch of quality. The first course consisted of classic pappardella with porcini mushrooms. Everything was delicious and well-made. The price was reasonable: approximately €25 per person.

A wonderful discovery just a stone's throw from Serra San Bruno is the Taverna dei Borboni. The restaurant is tastefully and elegantly furnished, and the service is excellent. Let's move on to the food: what can I say? I had homemade fagottini with butter and sage. Believe me, they were a riot of flavors. The first course was top-notch, well-cooked, with just the right amount of cooking and simple yet well-blended ingredients. For the second course, I had a grilled meat platter, where the veal, sausage, and pork were tender and cooked to perfection.

La Taverna dei Borboni in Spadola focuses on traditional cuisine, with simple dishes and average portions. The food selection is decent: some dishes are successful and flavorful, others a bit more ordinary, lacking any particular flair that stands out. Overall, the food is good, but there's room for improvement.
The real strength is the service: friendly, helpful, and attentive staff immediately puts guests at ease and serves them courteously.
The atmosphere is welcoming and informal, perfect for a quiet, unpretentious dinner. In short, a pleasant place to return to, especially for the atmosphere and service, but the food still has room for improvement.

Excellent value for money! Four of us split two first courses and two second courses, given the particularly generous portions of the first courses. Bill: €90 total for two appetizers, two first courses, two second courses, a dessert, wine, water, and coffee. The maltagliati and pappardelle with porcini mushrooms are highly recommended, and the shoulder with porcini mushrooms is also noteworthy. For mushroom lovers, this is a top place in Calabria!
