If I could give this place a 6th star I would. The experience was incredible from the service down to the dessert! Me and my wife shared the paccheri di mare and it was savory and balanced perfectly! I had the tagliata di Angus while she has the duck breast (sorry I don't speak Italian) and both were so cooked to absolute perfection. My steak was rare but seared exactly how I wanted 11/10. My wife's duck breast was also coated in the same fondue and cooked so tender. We also had a glass of enta red wine that paired with the steak like batman and robin! For dessert we both shared the berry and cream thing and a ricottamisu. Best tirmissu that I have ever had and the berry cream thing was exactly what my wife has been searching for for a while now! Overall a perfect way to spend our Thanksgiving dinner.

An authentic, less touristy restaurant in Catania's historic center. A few tables in a characteristic setting of lava stone and brick. Traditional dishes are delicately revisited and truly delicious. A selection of appetizers, first courses, and second courses of meat and fish are available. Not to be missed, especially for the excellent table service!

Our recent expedition was a culinary adventure that deserves to be recounted as the most epic of underwater discoveries!
⚓ Stage 1: Encounter with the Giant Mussels
The journey began with a Mussel Sauté that proved to be a true test for our palates. We're not talking about just any mussels, but true bivalve "monsters": enormous, fleshy, and incredibly juicy. Each shell was a little treasure to be cracked open, leaving the salty, powerful taste of sea foam in your mouth. An appetizer that mercilessly catapults you into the open sea.
🔱 Stop 2: Gold of the Deep and Spaghetti Maremoto
But the true highlight of this immersion was the Spaghetti with Sea Urchins. If the sea had a concentrated flavor, a secret elixir jealously guarded by the gods, this would be it. Each sea urchin had surrendered its purest essence, transforming the pasta into a tidal wave of intoxicating flavor. A flavor so authentic, profound, and unforgettable that the palate still cries out the echo of that "taste of the sea" never tasted with such intensity. It's a mystical experience, not just a simple first course.
🦈 Stop 3: The Mysterious Zoppona, "Deep in the Sea"
For the main course, we dared to try the dish dubbed "Deep in the Sea": a fish "Zoppona" (a sumptuous grilled dish or soup, depending on your vision of the deep!). And it was truly deep! A triumph of the freshest seafood treasures, caught just then, whose majestic presentation was reminiscent of a loot recovered from the wreck of a galleon. The flavor was pure, the ingredients treated with almost religious respect.
In short: Tantíkkia is not a restaurant, it's a sensory aquarium. Go there if you're ready for a culinary experience without filters or compromises, where the fish is the absolute protagonist and Sicily reveals itself in all its power.
