Symposium In Budoni

Abbiamo cenato in questo locale su consiglio di amici. L'insalata di mare non mi ha fatto impazzire, buona l'impepata di cozze, anche il primo allo scoglio e la grigliata. Servizio un po' lento e i camerieri a volte non vedevano che li si chiamava.

Good sliced beef and sea food (mixed grill of fish and grilled calamari and shrimps), tiramisù didn't feel like home made but seada was delicious. Also the house wine was quite good. I'm giving 4 stars just because portions are small but that's actually average for Sardinia.

We have visited this place twice. I leave 3 stars to give an average, because the second dinner deserves 1 star. The first evening went well; we tasted the fish first courses which, although not brilliant for the quality of the raw materials, were artfully prepared and were very tasty. The second evening was a terrible experience. We had 2 mussel soups that were among the most tasteless I have ever tried in my life, and a grilled fish that was equally tasteless and poor in content. No dessert because to prepare a seadas they asked us to wait 20 minutes (no alternative was offered nor did they seem sorry for the absurd wait, perhaps offering us 1 coffee or 1 amaro). The place is nice but lacks a lot in raw materials and organization, given the not cheap prices they should make an extra effort.

We showed up without a reservation and the staff still accommodated us by seating us. The pizza and seadas are quite good, but the Sardinian platter with rather anonymous cured meats and two pieces of cheese is very disappointing. The Sardinian starter needs to be improved to make the most of local raw materials. Negative note for the professionalism of the staff. Being pregnant, I asked if the cheese in the appetizer was made with pasteurized or raw milk and they couldn't answer me, as if I had asked for who knows what absurd information. I believe it is essential for the staff (and especially for the kitchen) to know what they are serving to avoid unpleasant inconveniences. In these cases I'm sorry but ignorance or naivety is not allowed. In the end, when in doubt, I didn't even taste the cheeses. Prices rather high but in line with local proposals.

Very nice cozy restaurant. Very tasty authentic food. Really great.
