I have to say we went for dinner as a two-person affair, based on the ratings. The person who initially served us told us there were tables by reservation only, so we made an online reservation right away, and another guy seated us at a small table. We didn't like this; from the start, with just two people, they could have served us better. Otherwise, the atmosphere was pleasant, and the food was recommendable.

Given that we arrived very late due to flight delays, they welcomed us into the restaurant that was now empty.
The place is very small and characteristic, with objects from the period hanging on the walls that recall their history.
They made us sit, at our request, at a table at the back of the place in an area without drafts. The floor was uneven and the table was wobbly. Wooden chairs and tables, nice, but the seat was uncomfortable, they would need cushions on the chairs. For the rest, the place was warm and welcoming.
We ordered a couple of appetizers for four: cod and sardine meatballs. He had told us that they could be shared without problems, but when the dishes arrived we were amazed by the portions, non-existent if you want to share. However, both dishes were good.
We ordered a caponata, beautiful to look at and equally good. Two first courses of fresh pasta alla norma, good and tasty; a margherita pizza, fresh ingredients and a dough that was not bad.
Last but not least: Sicilian cannoli, the ricotta was fresh and not overly sweet, the wafer was crunchy. Fully approved.
As for the wine, there is something to complain about. We ordered two glasses but it was too acidic; we also waited a bit for it to settle and re-evaluate but our opinion remained unchanged.
About the service, almost nothing to say. Welcoming and they almost always put us at ease. It was not nice to witness their loud animated discussions and that every now and then we had to call them to get their attention.
Another thing that was a bit annoying was towards the end of the evening that they always tried to check that the plates were empty to close the register and we didn't even get up, they were already sweeping the small room.
To sum up: good food and average portions, quality of ingredients. Something to review in the room and in the service.
For the price, average.

Such a great experience! The atmosphere is very traditional and super pleasant, making you feel right at home. Service was excellent — very friendly and attentive staff. And the food… absolutely outstanding! The Cacio e Pepe was perfect, one of the best we’ve had, and the pizzas were exceptional. Highly recommended!

I booked a table for 4 people (I'm on holiday with my children). The first impact may have discouraged anyone because, as the place is very small, it was not possible to respect the booking time. We had to wait to be seated but this wait was compensated by the courtesy of the customers and the delight of the dishes eaten. My children preferred a pizza that I also tasted 😉 (magnificent dough and quality toppings) I had a cheese appetizer and a traditional Sicilian first course. Truly a great experience. I really recommend it but at the same time I also recommend a little patience and understanding towards these guys who do the best with their possibilities.
We will definitely be back!!!

Food was super delicious!
Unfortunately it was absolutely hectic, loud and the waitresses were poor. very stressed, which you could tell.

We came on Easter Sunday. The children had pizzas, I had a prawn risotto. It was good. The risotto lacked a little flavor and for the price, a little more content on the plate would be nice (18€ for the risotto). We had a great time. THANKS !

Lo abbiamo recentemente provato per cena, in tre abbiamo preso due antipasti (polpo arrosto e caponata con pane e pesce), tre secondi di pesce (calamaro arrosto, spada arrosto e gamberoni) e due dolci (cannolo e croccante).
Tranne il polpo, troppo duro, gli altri piatti sono stati graditi da tutti; davvero gustosa la caponata, anche ben presentata (oltre che buona).
Ciò che ci è piaciuto meno è stato il servizio (ragazzi forse inesperti ma gentili e disponibili, comunque da incoraggiare) e soprattutto la sistemazione dei tavoli nel locale, troppi per lo spazio disponibile; ci si poteva muovere a stento e, pur comprendendo che lo spazio è quello che è, si sta troppo vicini l'uno all'altro.
Prezzo accettabile se si fruisce dello sconto The Fork.
Non escludo di tornarci, si trova a pochi passi dallo storico mercato di Ballarò.
