Strit Fud In Pantelleria

We dined at this restaurant several times during our stay in Pantelleria. The food is truly excellent, well-cooked, and the portions are generous. The prices are certainly competitive for the quality of the products served. The service could be improved, but overall, it's highly recommended.

Good and affordable sandwich shop and takeout. Service is perhaps a little slow, but that's due to the high attendance. The little place near the waterfront is very small, with just a few tables and stools for quick meals. Blackboards list the various types of delicious sandwiches and their daily preparations. The freshly fried arancini are delicious. I enjoyed the Pantelleria-style fish couscous with fried vegetables (takeout upon order), which was well-seasoned and flavorful. The Pantelleria-style calamari filling, however, could be improved. I wrote this ☝️ before, now: This Strit fud was a novelty on the island right from the start, a popular spot for those in a hurry who wanted to grab something traditional on the spot. Today, with the restaurant attached, it has become a go-to place for locals and tourists, offering good products and affordable dishes. If you're looking to sit down for a meal in addition to the takeaway sandwiches, piadinas, and arancini, reservations are recommended because, "luckily for them," it's always packed. The spaghetti with ink or calamari ragù is excellent. Well done, and kudos to the staff. Updated AUG 2024 - On more than one occasion, I've noticed that the chef is heavy-handed with the salt, especially in the main courses. If you point this out to Loredana (the owner), SHE is always right, not the customer, and she'll say, "Oh, no, it's a bit tasty." And, despite leaving the plates full, you still pay and don't smile. I prefer the "tasty" first courses.

Very good food, generous portions, and some of the best prices on the island. However, the service is a bit disorganized. The wait times are very long, even for takeout, even in late September. Reservations are essential as it's always busy. Overall, highly recommended.

It's probably the cheapest restaurant on the island. The quality of the food is in line with the price, I'd say. Make a reservation because it's always busy, but don't expect anything special.

Excellent quality food and more than reasonable prices for Pantelleria. The pasta with red shrimp was very filling and addictive, and I say this as a Sicilian who eats it regularly. My advice is to make a reservation to secure a seat. The staff and service were excellent, and the wait times were short. If you're going on holiday, even for a few days, it's a must-see.

Eccellente rapporto qualità - prezzo. Piatti abbondanti e molto buoni, durante la nostra vacanza a Pantelleria ci siamo stati diverse volte provando praticamente tutto il menù. Siamo sempre stati molto soddisfatti!!

Eravamo due coppie e siamo stati da Strit Fud dopo aver letto le recensioni precedenti. Il locale si presenta in modo semplice, senza particolari pretese, ma ci ha sorpreso positivamente per la qualità del cibo e soprattutto per i prezzi. Abbiamo iniziato con vari antipasti fritti (anelli di cipolla, nuggets, crocchette di patate e panelle): ogni porzione da 5 pezzi a solo 1€! Il prezzo così basso ci ha incuriositi e spinti a provare più opzioni, e devo dire che ne è valsa la pena: tutti buoni e ben fritti. Abbiamo poi ordinato 3 primi piatti, abbondanti e davvero gustosi, e un secondo di calamaro arrostito, un po’ gommoso, probabilmente perché surgelato (era giustamente scritto sul menù) . Per concludere, abbiamo diviso 2 baci panteschi: forse un po’ troppo dolce, ma comunque apprezzabile. Con Coca-Cola, acqua e caffè, il conto è stato più che onesto: qualità-prezzo davvero eccellente. L’unico punto da migliorare è la lentezza nel servizio: tra una portata e l’altra abbiamo atteso un po’ troppo, già a partire dall’ordine. Nel complesso, consigliamo sicuramente questo locale!
