Stone In Matera

It was incredibly delicious! The fried noodles, fried rice, sushi, and sashimi were all authentic and very reasonably priced. It was especially suited to Chinese palates. The owner was also very friendly and even gave us a discount.

Compared to other all-you-can-eat restaurants, this one offers limited menu choices, and the quality of the fish leaves much to be desired. The main courses are also limited, and the raw fish is questionable. The price is average.

One of the best sushi restaurants I've ever eaten at. The staff is very professional, attentive, and friendly. The food is excellent, with a wide selection of dishes. We'll definitely be back.

Excellent food quality and price

Sushi Stone restaurant in Matera remains an excellent choice for sushi lovers. The quality of the ingredients is truly remarkable: fresh fish, well-balanced flavors, and evident attention to detail in the presentation of each dish. Each course arrives at the table as a small creation, enhanced by elegant plating and a level of attention that certainly deserves recognition. However, despite the overall positive dining experience, a mix-up between the dining room and kitchen impacted the final rating. Two orders were listed, according to the system, as one already delivered and the other still being prepared, when in reality they had never arrived at the table. This resulted in a fairly long wait for the missing dishes. Had it not been for this misunderstanding—which could have been resolved with better internal coordination—the restaurant would undoubtedly have deserved a full five-star rating. It remains a recommended restaurant, especially for those seeking quality, freshness, and meticulously prepared sushi.

Took some time to figure out the QR code as it required a table number which wasn’t there. But once we got it figured out everything went smooth. Great food for a good price! And fast service.

Very nice location, helpful and friendly staff. The food was average for all-you-can-eat restaurants in the area. I found the rolls heavy and with too much rice and spices, but I understand that's a matter of taste. The fish is fresh, and there's plenty of variety on the menu.

We came later at night and the food was great. They let you order at the table from a tablet so you can take your time looking if you don’t speak Italian. The fried rice was so good with a good mix of veggies. The sushi was average. Overall we really enjoyed eating here!

I highly recommend Sushi Stone. This is my fourth or fifth time visiting Matera and I have eaten at four or five different sushi restaurants in that time and this is by far my new favorite. They offer all you can eat for lunch and dinner as well as à la carte. I always choose à la carte. Today my server was amazing. Not speaking Italian I needed a lot of help and he was great. He probably came to my table ten times in the hour I spent there and never made me feel like a nuisance. I enjoyed a shrimp tempura roll and gyoza. I also ordered dishes to take back home and everything was delicious. All of my special requests were honored and they did not up charge me for anything. The restaurant is super convenient, right behind the Palumbaro, beautiful, and the prices are very reasonable in spite of being n the middle of tourists. This will be my go to place for sushi and Chinese in the future.
