We chose the four-course menu. The food selection is very limited. Only two menus, one for four or seven courses. Excellent wine selection. The cuisine is fermented, with meat and vegetables. Personally, I really enjoyed it; I would have preferred a more detailed explanation and, since it's unusual, perhaps a meeting with the chef after dinner to explain her cooking philosophy. Worth trying at least once, regardless of your tastes.

It's a great restaurant, but it wasn't to my taste, and the same goes for the other diners. You can clearly see the care and research that goes into every dish. The staff is fantastic. So, for me, I think it was just a matter of personal taste. Unfortunately, I didn't like the food!

Spore forces you into a bit of a mold: you're stuck with fixed meals, either a 4- or 7-course menu, they don't have an espresso machine... they do it their way, with lots of fermented vegetables and other unique preparations. Kombucha is an incredibly flavorful alternative to wine.
What a fantastic tasting experience this was. I'd love to be put into a mold like that more often. Each one more unique and flavorful than the last. You taste the vegetables from the fields, the twists from Asian cuisine. Incredible! You have to be open to it, but then this is truly a top restaurant!

The staff were very friendly and helpful, but unfortunately the food didn't live up to expectations. Aside from the tagliolini, the dishes were rather dull in flavor, and the chicken, in particular, was completely bland. It's a shame, because I had high expectations; the July menu probably wasn't the best.
