Very cozy, upscale decor. The food was very good, except for one minor issue (shards of glass in the food), but that can happen to anyone. The food was, of course, replaced immediately. Nevertheless, the food was very good, and the staff very, very friendly.

We've been there twice, both on the first and last evening of our stay in Tyrol.
The food was delicious. I had both the speck and apple risotto, which was fantastic, and the trio of dumplings, which were excellent. My husband enjoyed the risotto with mushrooms, as well as the meat main courses! The strudel was simply superb... they were also very kind to our dog. Highly recommended, both for the food and the staff.

We had dinner at the Sonne a few times a few years ago and were extremely satisfied, which isn't the case today. We had veal liver, which I wouldn't recommend; it was thin, dry, and without sauce, an absolute no-go. But the service was excellent.

We arrived without a reservation and were seated in a quiet and comfortable private dining room. The food was delicious, and the portions were generous. I especially like the fact that eating gluten-free wasn't a problem at all. The pasta dishes could be made gluten-free, and there were plenty of other gluten-free dishes available. Vegetarian options are also no problem; there's something for everyone here. The service was also very friendly! We'd love to come back :)

We stopped in spontaneously and made exactly the right choice. The food was incredibly delicious—exactly what we were looking for. The best spaghetti I've had in Italy so far.
The portions were generous and the prices were perfectly reasonable.
The service was also very good and friendly.
We'd love to come back next time we're in the area.
I highly recommend it.

We were there at the beginning of July 2025 and celebrated my parents' diamond wedding anniversary. It was absolutely fantastic! The table in the Tyrolean parlor was very festively and lovingly set. The service and food were perfect, the dishes decorated with flowers! My parents were delighted with the poem that was already on the table as a welcome, including a greeting by name and congratulations! The waiter looked after us in a charming and welcoming manner. We highly recommend the Gasthaus Sonne!
A very successful setting for our diamond wedding anniversary celebration!

A great view from the terrace. The food was decent, but we've had better food in Tirolo so far.
The service was prompt, but we were unlucky enough to have a less than friendly server. Many other employees were noticeably friendlier, though—perhaps we were just having a bad day.
Overall, a rustic atmosphere with hearty food.
