Discovered because it's the only ice cream shop open late on Monday evenings in the Foce area. Prices are incredibly low with the lira-euro exchange rate, the ice cream is delicious, and there's a wide selection of traditional flavors. It feels like a step back in time.

Here you'll find gelato made as it should be, without frills or sophistries, made with seasonal products. The granitas follow the seasons, made very well. A special mention goes to the Sicilian pastry products, such as the cannoli, which are made fresh and filled on the spot. The prices have remained the same as twenty years ago, and this explains the queue to get in. Thank you, Ms. Gianna.

The place is run by an elderly, yet very lucid, woman who currently keeps it open from 4:00-4:30 PM until 1:00 AM to cater to the young crowd coming out of the clubs. You can find all kinds of Sicilian specialties here: granitas, gelato, cannoli, cassata, and cubaita (a sweet made with sesame seeds, almonds, and honey). The cannoli are filled on the spot to keep them fresh. Cassatas must be ordered. They offer gelato cups of all shapes and prices, from €0.93 to €1.29, to €2.07 to €3.10 (this one is downright enormous). The quality of the gelato is excellent, and the price is more affordable than other gelato shops; however, lines often form, and some customers give up and leave. But no one complains because it's definitely worth it: no one has ever seen a €0.93 cup anywhere. And the ice cream flavors are fantastic, the fruit ones like mandarin, pear, strawberry definitely taste like fruit.

A very quaint ice cream shop with a friendly owner. They also offer traditional Sicilian sweets: cassata, cannoli (filled on the spot), frutta martorana, and many other traditional Sicilian treats. The cannoli are filled on the spot. Prices are low, and have never been affected by the Italian lira-euro exchange rate (a small cup of ice cream costs 93 cents). Very good ice cream, with seasonal flavors. The opening hours are very long; expect long lines and extremely slow service. The place hasn't changed much in years, but it needs cleaning and renovation.

A spectacular place, anachronistic I'd say. You enter and step back in time. The low prices are the exact opposite of the very high quality. It's a shame that places like this are rare.

I didn't fully understand what happened. I asked for canoli from the very welcoming lady, they didn't have it. Then I asked for a pistachio ice cream in the cone (it tasted amazing) and I paid 1eur for two scoops....

Historic place! The best discovery we've made, artisanal and delicious gelato. More than fair prices! Definitely worth a try. 🩵🩵
