Strong for its famous chickpea and castagnaccio cake, a tiny but true Livorno tradition. A REAL place worth trying for those visiting from out of town... too bad it's only available for takeout!

Seghieri – Pizza and Cake: an authentic institution, one that doesn't need frills to convince you. Here, cake is a serious matter. And I emphasize cake: no "cecina," for goodness sake. In Livorno, they call it cake, or, if you're in the know, a nice 5&5 like Mamma Livorno dictates. Seghieri's cake is simply perfect: warm, fragrant, with that golden creaminess that melts in your mouth and makes you want to have another "just in case." The place has that typical Livorno atmosphere that welcomes you without filters: genuine, direct, sincere. It makes you want to stay, chat, and feel a little part of the city, even if just for five minutes. In short, Seghieri is one of those places you don't try: they take you there, and then you go back on your own. The cake is a piece of true Livorno, and a couple of bites are enough to understand it. Delicious, simple, and distinctive. Just as it should be.

If you want to eat cecina as I call it at Pisana...go there...

A typical, informal place to eat old-fashioned cake and pizza! Both are delicious. Excellent prices. The only downside is the bathroom, which isn't exactly clean and could use a renovation.

First time here, tempted by the great reviews for the chickpea cake, but honestly, we were disappointed. It was practically mush you could eat with a spoon 😯😔 The flavor was good, but I'd never seen chickpea cake without slices. Maybe we just didn't get it on the right day, I don't know if we'll try again, maybe we will, and let's hope we give it 5 stars!
