On holiday in Palermo I tasted typical food in tourist places, then someone local pointed it out to me as that place where the people of Palermo eat cannoli and more. You can dive into the past by enjoying the Scimone pastry shop, one of the few that still offers all kinds of Palermo sweets and sweets, past and present. Here they invented the apostle's fingers, sponge cakes as thin as crepes rolled around a flavored cream/mousse filling. Unforgettable. Not to mention the production of old-fashioned filled sweets and biscuits such as cubaita, pupaccene, Maria Stuarda. The lady owner and her children are very welcoming and charming.

Great historic Palermitan pastry shop that renews its traditions over the years made of so much quality, professionalism and passion. Embarassing choice to the detriment of blood sugar, but it's worth breaking the rule especially if made with high quality pastries, lots of goodness and deliciousness combined with a lot of quality.
