Scardaci Ice Cafe In Catania

Scardaci is a historic name in Catania and the ice cafè in via etnea is a point of reference. The place combines an ice cream shop and a small café together and has outdoor tables. The granita is excellent, also available in special flavors such as prickly pear, the brioche is excellent, and the ice creams are fabulous. The small pastry shop and the hot food shop are also excellent, the café is very good and despite its small size offers a good selection of hot and cold drinks. The staff is friendly but unfortunately not very present at the tables, especially those on via Etnea. There is also a display case with small items for sale (mainly cups and mugs).

My happy place for 15 years now, years of which I have been in Catania. From ice cream to granita spectacular unique taste especially the biscuit on ice cream 😍 super breakfast 👍 Every time I am in the center I can't help but stop by 🙏

⭐EXCELLENT IN EVERYTHING! Breakfast pieces, pastry sweets, ice creams: Scardaci is the best in EVERYTHING! Furthermore, it is the only bar I know in the area with excellent prices (a sweet piece for breakfast never goes far from €1.20/€1.50, unlike many bars that offer prices from €2.50 and up🤯). I particularly recommend trying the ice cream and pistachio croissant One of the best points of this var is the always cheerful and smiling staff, it is nice to meet you in the morning while eating a good croissant!

The best pistachio arancini eaten in Sicily......with real pistachios and not pistachio pesto.....try it to believe it and what about the toasted almond granita and sheep ricotta not to mention the cartocciate. .....and finally the kindness of the staff HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Very tasty gelato! I also recommend the ice coffee which is cold and a little sweetened.

Fruit tarts are exceptional! The best we had in whole Catania! I will remember this taste for a long time!

Great coffee, delicious Bach products and some really unusual ice cream flavors. The man behind the counter occasionally grumbles a little grumpily, then suddenly warms up and uses Google Translate to recommend great ice cream combinations. Class!

Good lemon and pistachio Granita, tasty!

Granite in a brioche. Chocolate was quite strong and not what we wanted. Told us to put granite in the brioche and eat like a sandwich. The owner was hilarious; we didn’t know how granite was served so we’re confused by what he was saying and it was so funny.

We stopped here on a food tour. We tried the almond granita & the pistachio granita! Both very delicious!
