It should be noted that, surprisingly, this isn't a typical local trattoria, as it serves a wide variety of Calabrian dishes. Overall, the food is good, home-cooked, and the menu has a few courses, which I think varies depending on the ingredients.
The wait between courses is long. The portions are modest, and the prices are not modest, justified by the limited seating/table capacity.

This inn is a sure thing in Livata!
I discovered it by chance and was immediately struck by the entire team's passion for their homeland, Calabria! And thanks to this love, the moment you set foot in the inn, you begin to discover the products of that wonderful region, with a tasting of dishes made strictly by hand with quality ingredients.
Every dish served has the flavor of expert hands, those of times gone by, reminding you of grandma's Sunday lunches.
Their hospitality makes you feel at home, so much so that it feels like you've always known the team serving tables, and this leads to a great and wonderful experience, not only culinary, but also human...
Because it's always nice to meet people with great sensitivity and PASSION for their work.

A wonderful surprise after the Livata Night Race!
After the race, around 10 pm, all the local restaurants told us it was too late for dinner... except them! They welcomed us with rare kindness, as if they'd known us forever. The highest-quality ingredients, carefully prepared and generous dishes, and a truly warm atmosphere. This isn't your typical restaurant where you're just another customer: here they treat you like a PERSON, with true and sincere attention.
We even chatted a bit after dinner, and felt right at home.
Highly recommended for those looking for good food, a genuine welcome, and an experience that goes beyond simple "eating out." We'll definitely be back whenever Livata calls!

At the Locanda you don't just eat delicious dishes but all the "time" needed to prepare them, always so genuine and balanced.
Here you eat "the time" that these girls put into every detail and it is the most precious thing for those who can give and receive.
And in the waiting time how many beautiful chats and laughs with my friends.
I will never cease to be amazed when tasting your dishes, today with a triumph of desserts.

Tasty appetizer. Tasty first courses (we had seconds). Quality home cooking, we ate outside with a view of the green mountain of Livata. We had a great time. It's also nice to see mother and daughters who run the business with so much passion. Congratulations.

Hospitality, cordiality and professionalism: three simple adjectives to describe today's experience at "l'allegra locanda". Pina and her daughters will know how to welcome you and make you feel at home, and then delight you with typical dishes of Calabrian cuisine and more. The quality of the products will also make the culinary experience unique.
P.S. highly recommended are both the fusilli alla cosentina made as per tradition with the so-called "ferretto" and the chicken thigh "alle tre cotture", in addition to the tiramisu and the perfectly fried cruschi peppers (a rarity in these parts).

Having arrived there today around 3.30pm we kindly asked if it was possible to eat again, something given the late hour and they welcomed us without problems. Very familiar environment, with fresh and genuine homemade food. All the staff were very kind and there was no dish that disappointed us, in fact everything was delicious, from the appetizers to the chicken with amazing tomatoes! We will definitely be back!

We visited Monte Livata and noticed this inn. Upon entering we immediately felt at home. You can breathe a familiar atmosphere and smell good cooking in the environment, made with passion and love. Well done! 👏
