Rustic and simple place but the food is good

Great, when I'm in the area I always go...

We were doing the FVG Gravel. We chose to spend two nights in Monfalcone, a perfect crossroads. We passed the Cooperative and I was intrigued. Usually, I have a good nose. It was eight in the morning and they were cleaning up. They told us: "We open at six in the evening." At a quarter past six, we were there. After 95 km of cycling. Mackerel and mussels. Not fresh, more so. Minimal bill. Great satisfaction.

Tasteless dishes, poor service, poor cleanliness

We went for dinner last night and had a wonderful meal—fresh, expertly prepared fish. We had the stewed cuttlefish with polenta, which was delicious, and the mixed fried fish was also delicious and plentiful. The prices are reasonable considering it's a "do-it-yourself" place; you fend for yourself with a tray, plastic plates, and cutlery. It's not a restaurant, but they know how to cook. And it's better this way, to eat well and not spend a fortune.

We were here just yesterday, and we were lucky enough to have lunch as they were closing the kitchen (2:30 PM). We had an octopus salad with potatoes and a peppered mussels Triestina-style. It was excellent, I'd say. The quantity of octopus and potatoes for the price of 9 euros was too small in my opinion, but it was good. The mussels were 10 euros, nothing to complain about here. Well done.
