We went to this restaurant based on the reviews, and I have to say the experience was even better! I had the kidney skewers and pork snout, which were absolutely amazing. My partner had the salami and bigoli with ragù, which were also spectacular. Excellent value!
Four courses, two desserts, and a bottle of wine for €25, cost us €86 in total. We'll definitely be back!

Excellent!!!! This is my assessment of this small but well-maintained restaurant in the center of Casteggio. The restaurant is well-maintained and quiet, thanks to the owner's preference for seating no more than six people. It's perhaps a little chilly given the room's temperature. Massimiliano personally prepares delicious, original, and flavorful dishes, beautifully balanced, showcasing the flavors of the Oltrepó region. Try the suckling pig in tuna sauce, the kidney with red onions, and the shocking pink rice with beetroot and mustard drops. Furthermore, Massimiliano shares his knowledge with his customers, and does so with kindness and courtesy, free from any pretensions. You can tell he truly loves his job. A true discovery, worth trying again and again. Excellent. The table settings could be improved: given the cotton napkins, perhaps a real tablecloth would be better than paper placemats. The price is reasonable for the quality of the ingredients, all locally sourced. In conclusion, a restaurant to return to again and again.

We weren't familiar with the place. We relied on the reviews provided by other users and were very satisfied. The chef is very friendly, pleasant, and knowledgeable. The wait staff is very kind and discreet. The dishes are exquisite. I recommend them!

We were passing through a comic book convention and decided to eat at this restaurant. The chef describes the entire menu in detail, even detailing the provenance of the ingredients. I really appreciate this kind of welcome, because seeing someone so knowledgeable and passionate makes me want to eat. I wasn't particularly hungry, but after the best tripe of my life, I thought to myself, "This is too good, let's try something else." So for my main course, I ordered a duck dish. I can't describe how the chef prepared it, but I think I could have eaten it until I was sick. I can only say that it was one of the best restaurant experiences of my life. I paid the bill, happy to have had this experience. It's a shame we're so far away, but considering how I ate here, I'll definitely drive an hour and a half. My sincerest compliments, chef.

Found it in a hurry online, as we were passing through. At first, we felt like we were in the wrong place with our little girl. In short, it wasn't what I was looking for. But after the first impression, I have to say I had to change my mind and was amazed by everything. The owner seems grumpy, but instead he was very sweet and kind, even recommending something suitable for my two-year-old daughter, since the menu isn't very varied and perhaps a little unusual for children. All the dishes were delicious, with new flavors, sophisticated combinations, and appropriate portions. The only thing that bothers me is the initial welcome, and perhaps a paper menu would have been more welcome than the blackboard brought to the table. The prices were reasonable, except for the coffee 🤣. I recommend it and will return with friends to try other amazing dishes.

Chosen because the menu on social media looked unique, and given our intense curiosity, we found ourselves celebrating an important holiday (arriving on a Vespa), in a family atmosphere with chef Massimiliano, who immediately put us at ease. His meticulous explanation of the passionately crafted menu piqued our curiosity and encouraged us to try several dishes. We chose the endive with guacamole, the vegetarian gyoza 🥟, the Piedmontese sushi 🍣, and the rabbit kushiyaki.
While we waited, the chef treated us to his salted suckling pig with hazelnut oil (super delicious). I found reinterpretations of dishes that blend Eastern and Western elements that please both the eye and the palate, effectively allowing us to try new combinations and flavors. All accompanied by excellent Buttafuoco "Verdi." The price is commensurate with the experience, I don't understand criticisms about the bill, considering that the restaurant is not in competition with Turkish kebab, pizzerias and trattorias... Top.
