Good wine list, good food, friendly and helpful staff, I didn't like the lack of tablecloth or at least a place to put the cutlery which happens on the table

We visited this place in July, recommended by friends and industry insiders. It's a modern osteria, worth trying at least once. The experience itself was positive, and the wine list was well-curated, even if the prices were a bit above average. The service was excellent! Now for the main courses: the appetizers were excellent, especially the meatball. Carbonara: good, but not the best dish! Special mention for the maritozzo, that was truly special!

The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and unlike many restaurants in the city, it was refreshingly free of the usual tourist crowds. The menu is creative, with dishes that feel thoughtful and unique. Everything we tried was well executed. The only minor caveat is that it sits on the pricier side, so be prepared for a higher bill.

A wonderful experience, as always. This is a restaurant I return to several times a year and I consider it, without a doubt, the best place to eat in Rome. The cuisine stands out for its use of top-quality ingredients, excellent raw materials, impeccably cooked and elegantly presented. The wine cellar is also remarkable, with a truly curated and never boring selection of wines. For those seeking excellence, this is the definitive address. Highly recommended.

A nice, well-maintained restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere. The staff is professional and helpful. Unfortunately, the food doesn't justify booking a month in advance. The communication and prices portray it as a high-end restaurant, but the dining experience didn't live up to expectations. I ordered a veal offal appetizer, which was quite good; a carbonara that was average but lacked guanciale; and a Roman-style tripe that didn't particularly impress me. Overall, the wait and expectations weren't fully met by the dining experience. It's not a place that makes me say, "I have to go back."

An absolutely outstanding experience ! Without a doubt one of the best meals I’ve had in Rome. From the moment we arrived, the service was warm, knowledgeable, and perfectly paced. The staff genuinely care about what they do, and it shows in every detail. The wine service was exceptional: thoughtful recommendations , Michelin-Star standards glassware and wine preparation from the sommelier (that was class) , perfectly matched to the food, and presented with real passion and expertise. The food itself was spectacular & creative, deeply flavorful, and rooted in tradition while still feeling exciting and modern. Each dish was beautifully executed, comforting yet refined, and memorable. Overall, Santopalato delivers a truly special dining experience. Incredible food, excellent wine, and impeccable service come together seamlessly. I cannot recommend this place highly enough , an absolute must-visit in Rome.
