It's an unusual restaurant that I've been following for years and I never miss a trip to their place. They're always extremely helpful with any requests, for example, they know I love fried mussels and they make a separate portion for me with them, not to mention the selection of wines and the spirits and bitters that they produce themselves... let's be clear, I'm not a member of theirs, truly the best in Gallipoli... then now with the new location, the icing on the cake (obviously that's also good)

Not only is the food and service top-notch here, but you also have a box seat for the sunset at dinner. Highly recommended!

A wonderful experience of authentic seafood cuisine. We were greeted with a smile and pampered, guided through our choices from appetizer to dessert. The staff was knowledgeable, cheerful, and helpful. Raw seafood with local ingredients prepared to perfection, including the tuna matchsticks. For our main course, we chose roast dolphinfish, truly delicious and impeccably cooked. Perfect value for money. We truly had an unforgettable evening. Thank you.

Spurred by the numerous positive reviews, we dined at Santa Monaca in early June.
The evening started well; the waiter was immediately helpful and friendly.
The raw seafood appetizer was DIVINE. I've never tasted seafood this fresh; it still moved!
The chef was kind enough to accommodate our request to replace the hairy mussels with raw shrimp.
It was a shame we had to wait an hour for an appetizer that simply requires placing the food on the plate.
It's worth noting the waiter's inattention. When we asked, he was surprised because he thought we were already waiting for the first courses... for which we still waited another half hour.
The tagliatelle with lemon, shrimp, and almonds were very good.
The linguine with samphire was unfortunately inedible: samphire has a strong, salty flavor, but the sauce was actually very well-balanced. The problem was with the pasta, which was most likely double-salted.
To avoid further prolonging the wait, we didn't report it. In any case, it would have been difficult to do so, given that the waiters ignored us throughout the entire dinner, not even approaching for the routine "Everything's fine," even though the other tables were empty.
Finally, we were brought the mussel soup, which we had ordered as a second course, intrigued by the cacioricotta cheese, which, after all that time, we had almost forgotten about.
As a Neapolitan lover and purist of mussel soup, I urge you not to make this mistake. I don't know if the dish was poorly executed due to the rush to finish: the cheese melted in the stew, creating a mush that put me off even taking a photo of the dish.
To conclude, we cheered up with an excellent lemon sorbet, kindly offered to us.
When it came to the bill, the lady at the cashier (perhaps the owner) absentmindedly asked us how the dinner had gone. I preferred not to comment on the mussel soup, but I did point out the mistake in the linguine with samphire. Almost as if jolted awake from sleep, the lady smugly replied, "Yes, if you're not familiar with it or aren't used to it, samphire can be salty." I preferred not to continue the discussion, but, noticing my clearly puzzled expression, she added, "If you didn't like it, I'll give you a discount."
The gesture of halving the price of the dish was greatly appreciated, despite the manner.
In conclusion: the quality and freshness of the products are undeniable, but it doesn't justify the long waits, the inattentive service, and the poorly executed dishes. The attitude at the cash register confirmed our impression: despite the quality of the ingredients, there is much room for improvement both in the dining room and in the kitchen.
A restaurant with great potential, which, unfortunately, in our experience, has not yet fully realized its potential.

A truly beautiful restaurant.
The wine all seems excellent: we ordered a Falanghina from Puglia, which I found exquisite!
The dishes are very good! The only complaint, perhaps, was that the tricolor gnocchi had a little too much oil. But overall, it was still good!
The Santa Monaca salad arrived undressed. I understand that everyone prefers their own dressing, but considering the generous portion, it's not easy to dress and mix it without spilling some on the table. I would perhaps suggest lightly dressing it in the kitchen, or adding a glaze or light dressing, while still allowing the customer to add toppings as desired.
The tiramisu is a classic, but really good and light :)
The only two negatives were: the girl who passes by and presents the fish of the day upon arrival should avoid touching them directly with her hands. It would be enough to simply point to them, so as to maintain a slightly more decorous appearance.
The second, decidedly more negative, issue was that our main courses arrived while we were still eating our appetizers: my pasta was left at the table, while my partner's tuna was taken back to the kitchen.
At this point, I called a waitress, asking for clarification and to take back the pasta since we were still finishing our appetizers. She told me she wasn't sure that was possible because the kitchen had already prepared them. Even when I replied, "It doesn't seem right or polite that my girlfriend has to eat her tuna alone while I watch her," the waitress didn't take the plate back.
Unfortunately, mistakes happen; it's the approach of accepting them and correcting them that completely changes the outcome.
(A second waitress arrived in a flash, took the second courses, and commented, "When you feel ready, let me know personally and I'll have them remade for you right away!")
Unfortunately, I don't remember the second waitress's name, but thanks anyway for the wonderful service :)
I have to say, it's one of the few seaside restaurants that didn't give me the impression of being just another tourist spot with the same old dishes and the same old, falsely extravagant service.
A truly wonderful evening!!
I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful and enjoyable dinner :)

Rather a pleasant surprise, good but not exceptional, pleasant terrace, too close to traffic.
