Salendo Wine Bar In Chiusdino

A surprising discovery during our visit to the Abbazia San Galgano: a cute little bar with a lovely, spacious outdoor area in the middle of the forest. The concise menu with uncomplicated yet delicious dishes and the friendly service are only topped by the wonderful natural scenery. Dogs are welcome and readily provided with fresh water. We felt very comfortable there and set off on our next travels feeling refreshed. Be sure to try the Galgano red wine!

The place is ideal for a break after visiting the abbey, then the church... so going downstairs you'll find this bar, ideally located. We ate various bruschetta (I recommend the chicken liver one, absolutely delicious!!), the excellent ribollita, and other first courses. There's a bit of a wait, but you can't always rush. The quality of the food is worth the wait. It's a shame I didn't take photos... take my word for it!

Very tasty menu and very welcoming staff.

The dishes were well-priced and excellent. I had pappardelle with wild boar ragù, a sandwich with wild boar salami and pecorino cheese, and wine—all excellent. The service was perfect, and the location was very pretty and shaded by the trees. I'll definitely be back.

Trattoria near the Abbey and Hermitage of San Galgano. A simple place with plenty of outdoor seating, excellent Tuscan cuisine. The cheese platter and the pappardelle with wild boar are highly recommended. Very friendly and helpful staff, very quick service, and if it gets crowded, it's still efficient and fast. They also have various cakes and pastries. And good coffee. Clean bathroom.

Beautiful wine bar located on the way back from the Montesiepi Hermitage. Cute location, very friendly staff. They offer a good variety of sandwiches and other hearty dishes at very reasonable prices!! Their wine is a must-try! I recommend the wine produced from their vineyard, which you can see if you decide to visit the Abbey of San Galgano and then the aforementioned Hermitage. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

A magical place, like its setting. Sitting outside in its simplicity is a true natural culmination of a visit to the Abbey of San Galgano. The staff were kind and discreet. I ate some truly delicious tagliatelle with wild boar ragù and drank a glass of local red wine, made from Sangiovese Galgano di Montesiepi grapes. I loved it so much I bought a bottle from the beautiful and well-stocked shop selling local products. Even just for a delicious sandwich or a platter of Tuscan cured meats and cheeses, it's worth it. Well done, guys! It's truly a stunning spot. I recommend everyone to visit San Galgano and stop at Salendo! P.S. Bring a bottle of red wine with you, it's worth it.

A classic outdoor kiosk, just a few hundred meters from San Galgano, with excellent products and truly reasonable prices.
