Real sushi of excellent quality, services ok. The menu is a bit limited but it's worth it. Highly recommended.

We tried Sakura Sushi in Viale Innocenzo in Como, a restaurant that is different from the usual all you can eat. The chef is Japanese and the food focuses more on quality than on the scenographic aspect. We tasted several dishes, all prepared with care and fresh ingredients. The sushi is well balanced in flavors, the sashimi is of excellent quality and some Japanese specialties are difficult to find elsewhere. The okonomiyaki, however, did not convince us entirely. The service is discreet and the atmosphere is quiet.

A real japanese sushi-ya in Como, well above other chinese fake-japanese places. Here you do not "all you can eat" but still you can appreciate a well-prepared food with great taste.

Small sushi restaurant in Como, with an intimate and welcoming atmosphere. The service is quick and no frills, with a rather limited menu. The quality of the fish is good, especially in the sashimi, served in thick, well-cut slices.
However, the quality-price ratio leaves something to be desired: the portions, although correct on some dishes, are often smaller than the asking prices. Paying over 20 euros for a sashimi of a few slices or uramaki without particular creative touches makes the experience less exciting.
The choice is limited, and if on the one hand this guarantees fresh and well-treated ingredients, on the other hand it lacks the variety and innovation that one would expect from an à la carte sushi. The uramaki, in particular, are rather simple and similar to those of a good all you can eat.
Overall, a stop that may be worth a visit if you are looking for classic sushi in a cozy environment, but for those who are used to more refined and well-balanced experiences in price, it may not be the best choice.

A kind of monument in town: To me the best sushi in Como center.
Sushi/sashimi misto was simply delicious. The different pieces were organized in pairs on a dish, in such an order we could taste them in a progression. Each piece was duplicated so to support an experience in a couple. Useless to say that fish was super fresh and tasty. The Mochis we had for dessert (red beans based) were freshly prepared before being served. It was the first time I could get fresh ones in the size of 2x, which was pretty peculiar.
Service was good and very essential (no highlights) and pretty slow even if few people were around (I went on a wednesday early in Jan); I expect a bit of waiting time in crowded days. It is anyway more than compensated by the quality of food.
Athmosphere is nothing special, starting from the location (not far but out of the city’s centre in a very busy area)
