A dinner that made us feel like we were traveling through the scents and flavors of Sardinia. My boyfriend and I chose this restaurant almost by chance, and we found ourselves immersed in an authentic and satisfying experience. The cheese platter speaks of tradition with every bite, the malloreddus alla campidanese envelop us with warmth, and the saffron fregola with mushrooms and sausage is a perfect blend of aromas and textures. The desserts, delicate and unforgettable, ended the evening like a sweet caress. The staff, sweet and attentive to every detail, made us feel welcomed and at home. And the price, so fair for the quality and generosity of the food, was a pleasant final surprise. A place that remains in the heart, to be cherished and revisited.

*A dinner with a Sardinian flavour* We dined at this restaurant after reading the excellent reviews on Tripadvisor, and our expectations were fully met. The atmosphere was warm and authentic, and the Sardinian cuisine was truly exceptional: each dish exuded authentic and carefully crafted flavours. The staff was welcoming, attentive, and kind, making us feel right at home. Even the bill seemed fair and commensurate with the quality. Highly recommended for those seeking a genuine and tasty experience!

Don't be put off by the line, as there's a good turnover of tables. The food is good, and the menu features exclusively regional dishes. A must-see if you're passing through Cagliari.

Lunedì ero in giro per Cagliari per una visita alla città e tra le tante proposte ho deciso di provare Sa domu Sarda. Il personale veramente cortese mi ha fatto subito sentire a casa. I piatti che ho provato sono stati di qualità veramente eccelsa

Servizio gentile e veloce. Bello il locale e vario il menù ricco di proposte tipiche. Tutto squisito,antipasto di formaggi tipici con marmellate,melanzana fritta e poi i primi piatti. Fregola allo zafferano con salsiccia e funghi spaziale,gnocchetti sardi con salsiccia divino e vino Cannonau da far girar la testa. Per finire? Il dolce tipico più buono che c’è! Miele e formaggio fritto in questa sfoglia sottile e calda che sa regalare al palato ricordi unici. Grazie Sardegna

16/08/2025: Booked place for me and my friends (which later canceled on me) however best decision to come alone and enjoy this beautiful 10 days here is this establishment and great hospitality from everyone 😊 food is great, they treated me with an excellent white wine and the room is made for a king since my friends are not there i have more then enough space 😀
12/08/2025: Sublime dinner Of all the places we tried in Cagliari, Locanda del Buongustaio is definitely the best restaurant my partner and I have ever tried! We're both very picky eaters, and they exceeded our expectations. They're also super friendly, and the service is impeccable. The price is very fair! We'll definitely be back and highly recommend it!

13/07/2025: We ordered a menu that included 10 appetizers, bread, water, fregola with seafood, pasta with truffles, and dessert for €30 per person. The carabineri were spectacular.
13/07/2025: Great availability even when booking by phone, excellent on-site reception, super-fast preparation of my young son's dish (cutlets and fries). I chose the lobster linguine, a true delicacy as well as a beautiful sight, not to mention the decidedly generous portion, which I thoroughly enjoyed. I then continued with some delicious shrimp and fish meatballs, finishing with a delicious lactose-free Catalan cream. My husband chose land between a lovely appetizer of Sardinian cheeses and cured meats and a very good Angus beef, to finish with his own dessert and a warm chocolate cake for my son. We chose the à la carte menu due to our preference, but they also offer very interesting guided tasting menus. I also want to highlight the attention to detail in every single course, as well as the option of lactose-free options, including desserts. The value for money was absolutely more than fair. We had a great time and therefore highly recommend it, both for families and in general. The location is intimate, minimal yet effective, and super clean (as are the bathrooms).
