I've been staying at the Cavallino for many years.
It has changed hands several times, all characterized by professionalism and customer service.
The hotel is not in the city center; it's just off the highway and opposite the Maia Bassa station. The city center is a 15-minute walk away or by the frequent buses that pass near the hotel. Public transportation tickets (for all of South Tyrol) are included in the stay.
Good restaurant.
Paid covered parking is available, or alternatively, there are large, free, and secure public parking spaces.
I'll be back again.

A local favorite! This pizzeria has a cozy yet modern atmosphere, perfect for a relaxed evening with friends or family. The service is quick and incredibly friendly, and the team makes sure you always feel well taken care of. The consistently high quality you can expect with every visit is particularly impressive. They really pay attention to every detail, and you can taste it from the very first bite. Definitely a place you'll want to return to again and again.

We used to frequent this restaurant years ago, often coming specifically for the fish soup, which we remembered as a strong point. Unfortunately, yesterday's experience was a huge disappointment.
We ordered pasta with fish: the fish was full of sand and served cold, while the pasta was warm. The dish was completely flavorless and overall truly awful.
It's even more disappointing because it was a company dinner, so it made a bad impression on colleagues. It's a real shame to see a place we once loved so much now offer such poor service and quality. Dessert and coffee were very good.

Excellent option for a stay in Merano; convenient location, near the train station and just a few minutes from the city center.
The rooms are comfortable, the breakfast was plentiful, and the staff was very friendly. We ate very well at the restaurant.
