Conosco questo piccolo angolo di cucina nordafricana da tanti anni. Ci torno sempre volentieri, il calore e la gentilezza di persone stupende. Ancora presente il capofamiglia, persona fantastica con il figlio in sala ad aiutarlo. Tutto sempre molto, molto buono, prezzi bassi e qualità alta. Meglio di così?

Una perla nascosta nel centro di Modena, cordialità , gentilezza e ottimo cibo! Assolutamente da provare! Prezzi onestissimi. Tornerò

A nice rotisserie where you can try many different Egyptian dishes and where the owner's kindness cannot go unnoticed. I went here for the first time on a Saturday evening. It was almost 10pm so there weren't many customers (some tables were empty). My 2 friends and I were accompanied to the back room and were immediately served with appetizers. Hummus, olives, falafel, warm bread. The problem was the "after". We were left with nothing for 30 minutes. No one came by to ask us what we wanted... then, finally, once they had taken them into consideration, they waited another good 20 minutes to heat up our dishes. I remember that the dishes are already ready and therefore do not require particular effort. Once the first course was finished, history repeated itself. These expectations are probably related to cultural aspects, but we Italians are not used to waiting so long and I consider this a negative side. Everything was accompanied with smiles, but smiles are often not enough. The first courses are pleasant, but not excellent. Meat and vegetable dishes are very seasoned (perhaps too much) and can be very heavy. Despite this, they are good. The best dish: aubergines with tomatoes, capers and olives. With 3 starters, 2 first courses, 2 second courses, 2 aubergines and 2 teas we spent 27 euros each.

We went to Trattoria della Gioia during a short stay in Modena: I can only confirm the many positive reviews. The place is simple but nice and clean. The dishes are truly excellent, cooked simply and easily digestible (which is not always a given when it comes to ethnic cuisine). My husband and I are vegetarians but we still found a wide choice, also recommended by the owner who is a really kind person. I recommend it to everyone!

A real experience! I asked if they had anything vegan and they sat me and my friend down and took us on a journey through the flavors offered by the owner! We ate falafel, hummus, couscous, aubergines, artichokes and finally even a mint tea and some dates offered! The two of us spent a total of 33 euros and ate really well and a lot! Furthermore, the dishes offered had rather delicate flavours, therefore also suitable for those who do not particularly like spices or spiciness! When I return to Modena I know where to eat

A lovely cosy ethnic restaurant smack in the centre of Modena, in the art district, for a quick bite or a nice dinner with friends. And very very reasonably priced too, which is becoming so rare. Recommended!
