I had lunch in this really nice place on Sunday with some friends and the expectations that had been created were satisfied. Beautiful location a stone's throw from the sea, the large windows give you a fantastic view. Attentive and trained waiters, despite the lack of a raw dish ordered a few minutes after the main order, reported wanting to replace the dirty dishes with clean ones when we pointed it out to them. Having done this job for years now, this is also important in managing the service. There is no discussion about the quality of the food, combinations that enhance the flavors of the ingredients used, the octopus, the tagliolini with squid ink with lobster ragout and smoked ricotta and the cod meatballs were fantastic, a little disappointed by the raw meat and the fusilloni where the lime covered the flavor of the fish but it must be said that after the starters the expectations were very high. Wide choice of wines although some labels were a little too expensive in my opinion. The presentation of the desserts is beautiful and the flavor is also delicious. Prices a little high but still in line with the quality offered, at the end of lunch the owner also offered us a really good cocktail while we could enjoy the musical entertainment. I will certainly return.

3 ⭐⭐⭐ only because it doesn't feel like being in Falerna....nice and above all trendy location, it's practically a balcony overlooking the sea....
Let's move on to the negative: we ordered 2 aperitifs, only the beverage arrived.....I'm not saying it had to arrive caviar or golden oysters but even two peanuts and dry chips were fine.... After asking like two hungry people for something to eat otherwise we would have left drunk, the black platter arrived with 4/6 "gourmet" courses, some cold and others reheated. I'm not saying the price is exaggerated, but it can be there... it's a tactic to make selection and make the place become a VIP and above all for those who live for appearance.😉

Where to start when describing Riva?
From Roberto, an absolute genius, who took a beach on the Tyrrhenian coast of Cosenza and transformed it into a must have for every occasion. Lunches, dinners, aperitifs, parties (birthdays, weddings, ceremonies of all kinds), but also relaxation under the umbrella or by the pool.
Getting to Riva is very easy, from the Falerna junction which marks the arrival or departure point between the sea and Cosenza. Parking is secured. And if you drive big cars (Porche, Ferrari, Lamborghini or so) there is also space in plain sight at the entrance.
Two rooms, an external dehor which is a jewel, outdoor tables facing the sea, in front of the gazebo and the walkway always ready for any eventuality. An accommodation for every taste and for every group. Sunbeds on the beach for sunset drinks or claire de lune included, when the season arrives.
Fantastic staff, very professional (which in Calabria is quite unusual). And he puts his a-tout on the table precisely because of this difference with other venues. The Riva is glamorous, it is the place to go to be there. And to sabre: the lever with which he launched the place was the champagne saber, which flows abundantly. And it exerts a fascination that is inexplicable to me, but absolutely evident. Roberto's second a-tout is called Francesca. A formidable chef who experiments and ventures, always with elegance and with an eye on everything that happens in the national and international gastronomic panorama.
The third is the show: excellent singers, the sax that serenades the sun and the moon, the ballets and so on that make staying at the Riva a lot of fun. And the fourth, last but not least - it seems banal, but on the contrary it is brilliant, and very well structured - is the use of social media. Video, reel, gallery, post, story: being at Riva means being there. Being filmed, posted, recognized between a saber slash and a pre-gin and tonic train.
I forgot: the fish is excellent. And obviously you eat well. Which, as a corollary of everything else, makes Riva the place you can't go to repeatedly.

Non è la prima volta che pranziamo al Riva e come sempre si conferma una scelta ottima. Piatti ricercatissimi con un sapore fantastico, vasta scelta di vini di ottima qualità, il tutto accompagnato da ottima musica e da una vista spettacolare ed un’accoglienza a 5 stelle. Un’idea di ristorante che fa del Riva un locale unico nel suo genere in calabria. CONSIGLIATISSIMO

Il Riva Restaurant Lounge & Bar non è un semplice locale ma un luogo che rimane nel cuore. Un menù eccellente accompagnato dalla professionalità di tutto lo staff che fa sentire accolti e coccolati. Il tutto immersi in una location senza pari per cura e bellezza. Per me,che vivo in Lomellina, pranzare vista mare non ha eguali.
Insomma un'esperienza straordinaria a 360° da ripetere.
