Excellent staff. The cannoli were wonderful.

I stopped by today after several months, and the service seemed a touch below what would have been a pleasant experience. The granita, coffee, and cream were good, but there wasn't much that could be done to make this historic place even better. Perhaps a little more smile.

Delicious freshly prepared cannoli + travel pack (granella and ricotta wafers). A must-have in Messina.

The coffee granita was very good, the cream and brioche were also good, and the strawberry one was also good. It's a cute, stylish place. Reasonable prices. We were passing through after the ferry and chose this place for the granita, and we didn't regret it.

You can never go wrong at Doddis, quality and authenticity are guaranteed. The granita, desserts, and rotisserie are all excellent, featuring Messina classics.

It's been ages since I've been here, and I have to say the restrooms are spotlessly clean (and cleanliness isn't a given, and I always encourage you to check out the restrooms before consuming anything; it's a good habit to encourage the managers. If you're not convinced, move on). I ordered the classic chocolate granita with cream and a brioche col tuppo, which I found to be average. However, I didn't particularly like the brioche; it reminded me of a compact brick, white on the inside, and the dough was far from the soft, fluffy brioche with that lovely yellow center that I rarely encounter. We're talking about a well-known establishment with a long tradition, and it's been in the city for a long time, so expectations should be high, especially when the bill is €4, consumed at the counter, and I had to specifically request water.
