Nella serenità le linee sono facili, gli occhi guardano il panorama, le dita stringono lo stupore ! Non serve un castello per perdersi, ma basta calore per ritrovarsi . Non so di preciso cosa sia la magia ma so che inizia sempre quando non te ne vuoi più andare ! Località senza pari, staff super * cucina sublime ! Andateci che troppi “poi” diventano “mai”! A wonderful place with delicious food and kind people. We arrived after a bike ride 🚴, tired and wet. They set us up near the fireplace, allowing us to warm up, and served us a delicious meal. September 2024. A wonderful typical mountain refuge with fireplace and stube, with a truly spectacular location and view of the woods and lake... an oasis of peace and silence. Exquisite food, excellent quality and fair portions at a fair price. Very good house wine. Service made of kindness, friendliness and attention to customers. Family-run refuge and products all homemade as well as of great quality. Tagliatelle with venison ragout and braised meat with polenta taragna is mind-boggling, not to mention the desserts! When you do things yourself, you can see the result but above all you can feel it! Both father and son were very hospitable and the place was very warm and welcoming. Mandatory stop for anyone visiting the Cancano lakes!

Great location to enjoy the mountains between the Swiss National Park, Passo Umbrail and Bormio, away from the big tourist folks.

To visit the lakes of Cancano and San Giacomo I recommend arriving at the Solena refuge, park n. 7 and leave the car. Take the path with the barrier owned by A2A and continue on the dirt road overlooking Lake Cancano. The view is breathtaking. You then arrive at the Fraele refuge; from here we decide to continue counterclockwise and visit Lake San Giacomo. This second lake is spectacular, there are huts, pastures and small groups of scattered houses. To close the tour and return to the Fraele refuge, I recommend visiting the Imbuto lake, above the picnic area of ​​the same name. This tour is 23 km long with a difference in altitude of 200... we return to the Solena refuge, closing the tour to enjoy a good dessert💕

Tre commensali, abbiamo consumato all'aperto alcuni piatti tipici valtellinesi. Tagliere di salumi e formaggi della zona, tagliatelle fatte in casa con funghi e con salmi' di cervo, dessert caserecci. Nel contesto del laghi di Cancano un gran bel modo di gustare la gastronomia locale. Bravi.
