Pleasing palates, gazes, and sensibilities as diverse as those of the French, Spanish, and English is never a given. Yet, here it happens with disarming ease. The secret is a cuisine that seeks encounters rather than effect: a cuisine made of authentic simplicity, sincere emotion, and evident love for what is prepared and for those welcomed.
We are Mater Lingua, and we travel across Italy bringing French, Spanish, and English actors with us. We create shows in their native languages to bring true emotions to students in over 200 Italian cities. But right here, in this land, something special happens: the show isn't just born on stage.
It's born off it.
Nature, people, places, and cuisine enter into the creative process. They help us invent, feel, and transform theatrical work into a living experience. They become an integral part of creation, like an extra test, like a line spoken at the right time.
And so, gastronomy does what theater has always done: it brings emotion.
A creamy chickpea soup with crostoni speaks of warmth and essentiality.
The rigatoni pizzaiola speaks a direct, sincere language that reaches everyone without the need for translation.
And it would take too long to list all the emotional offerings that come from this kitchen: every dish is a gesture, every flavor a story, every aroma a lasting memory.
You can feel the hand of chef Mario and the eye of Isabella, but above all the heart: in the balance of flavors, in the attention to detail, in the welcome that ignores origins or accents. French, Spanish, and English, actors from different cultures, find themselves united by the same happy silence, the same smile that arises in the face of something that feels like home, even when home is far away.
Theater brings emotion.
So does cuisine.
And when these two worlds meet, culture ceases to be a matter of distance and becomes a meeting, a shared humanity, a collective invention.

I recently dined here with my wife, although we've been there before, always with complete satisfaction. However, I don't recommend going on busy days, when you might be relegated to the lower level and served in a somewhat sloppy manner. Excellent first courses, second courses, and side dishes, all featuring typical Cilento cuisine, using fresh ingredients, some of which are locally sourced. The desserts are also excellent, especially their artisanal Zi' Filumena apricot panettone. We enjoyed it at the table and found it so flavorful we decided to buy one. Attentive and prompt service in a very refined and family-friendly atmosphere, thanks in part to the fireplace where the meats and other dishes are cooked. The quality-price ratio is excellent. We'll be back. Recommended for lovers of good food and comfortable surroundings.

Excellent traditional cuisine, featuring local ingredients presented with a modern twist, this trattoria is definitely worth a visit.
Even the panettone, now a staple everywhere, is a high-quality product, perhaps superior to many leavened cakes offered by master pastry chefs.

A restaurant of exquisite goodness! I had the zucchini flowers, the pumpkin soup with chestnuts, and the boiled eggplant: everything was truly spectacular! The atmosphere and the staff make you want to return. 100% highly recommended!
