A family-run gem above Lana/Merano. Excellent cuisine with something for everyone. An excellent selection of wines from the region and beyond. Very friendly and attentive staff.

We have now stayed at the Hotel "Der Waldhof2" several times and were once again absolutely thrilled. We had wonderful days at a hotel with a high feel-good factor. We really enjoyed the quiet and cozy atmosphere. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Thank you for that! The rooms were very clean, spacious, and functionally furnished with a touch of luxury. Also worth mentioning is the spa area – with a top-notch sauna offering – that leaves nothing to be desired. The perfectly maintained outdoor area with an infinity pool and sunbathing lawn invites you to relax. The breakfast is fantastic with everything you need and more: vitamin-rich smoothies, prepared and produced in-house, egg dishes prepared live in front of the guests, a delicious selection of breads – all attractively arranged. The evening menu is varied and impresses with exciting compositions from the region and nature, all of a high standard. The wine list is convincing and expertly presented by the sommelier. A wonderful hotel, perfect for a mix of active and relaxing vacation. The lobby and bar areas unfortunately lack appeal, which is something to be overlooked. Overall, everything adds up to a simply wonderful stay, highly recommended.

This was our first time at the Hotel Waldhof, and it will hardly be our last. The Waldhof is a wonderful hotel. There's simply nothing to complain about. The location is magnificent. The grounds and the hotel itself are very well maintained. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. You feel like you're at home. Absolutely fantastic and highly recommended.

The perfect place to relax and enjoy peace, hospitality, exceptionally good cuisine, and beautiful nature! Despite its proximity to Merano, which we found far too crowded, the Hotel Der Waldhof is so secluded that it's truly relaxing and quiet, yet not too far from the hotspots (Lana, Merano). At the Waldhof, you're simply in very good hands – a fantastic wellness area with lovely pools and saunas, food and drinks ranging from very good to exceptional, and the staff are extremely attentive and friendly. A charming sommelier (unfortunately, I can't remember his name) expertly recommends the perfect wine to go with your meal – always very individual, always with interesting information about that particular wine. You can start hiking directly from the hotel; there are beautiful trails through apple orchards. We booked a junior suite in the main building – with two balconies, everything was very spacious, and plenty of storage space. It was perfect for 10 days. We also participated in a wine tasting at the Donà winery and were so impressed that we bought a few bottles directly from the winery the next day. We felt completely at home and definitely want to come back. A big thank you to the Mahlknecht family and all the staff at the hotel!

--- A dream vacation at the Hotel Waldhof in Völlan – we'll be back! We were privileged to spend our stay at the Hotel Waldhof in Völlan – and we were absolutely thrilled. Our suite in the main building was spacious, with a walk-in closet and a bright, modern bathroom with a window, two sinks, a large walk-in shower, and stylish tiles – a detail that really stood out to us. The food was simply a dream – absolutely top-notch! A particularly nice touch: When the weather was good, we were able to enjoy breakfast and dinner on the terrace, with a breathtaking view of the surrounding mountains, forests, and a castle. The service was consistently outstanding – the staff were always friendly, helpful, courteous, and competent. Thank you so much! The wellness area also leaves nothing to be desired: a spacious sunbathing lawn, a stunning infinity pool with panoramic views, and a fantastic sauna area. A very special highlight were the atmospheric infusions in the afternoon – a big thank you to Alan and Luc for this special experience! All we can say is: This hotel is a place where you can feel at home, with a coherent, well-thought-out concept – a real insider tip! We'll definitely be back. Thank you for the wonderful time! ---

A thoroughly enjoyable stay – we'll be back! We are currently enjoying a wonderful stay at this hotel and would like to express our sincere praise. The entire staff is exceptionally friendly, attentive, and always creates a pleasant atmosphere. As regular sauna users, we've experienced many infusions – but this was by far the best! A real highlight! The massage was also a dream – so relaxing that I didn't even notice it was over. The food is simply outstanding – varied, high-quality, and prepared with great attention to detail. The bathrooms in the main building may not be up to the latest standards, but they are very well-maintained and clean. One small suggestion for improvement: It would be nice if the loungers in the garden were already prepared with cushions in the morning. We only found out by chance that they even existed. Otherwise, there's nothing to complain about – we're already looking forward to our next vacation in this wonderful hotel!

This was our third time here and we thoroughly enjoyed our time. Excellent food, friendly and competent staff, a beautiful facility with a 23-meter pool that allows for lap swimming. And thanks to the elevated location at 700 meters, it's not as hot as in the valley, but there's usually a light, refreshing breeze.
