Nothing negative to say. An elegant place, with great service. Compliments to the chef, for pairings, I didn't think that fish and pecorino would make such a harmony. There were just the two of us and the whole place was for us, with Christmas music, top-notch service and exquisite dishes. I didn't expect such abundant dishes, which many restaurants now reduce the quantity, sometimes resulting in a measly dish. Here there are valuable ingredients and you don't save on quantity. Even for coffee they don't bring you just one sachet of sugar but an entire tray with the sugar of your choice. A compliment at the start of lunch and a biscuit for coffee, even if you don't order dessert, are other details that put SottoSopra among the places to try. Thank you, you gave us a real culinary experience. I read reviews of the high price, yes, it is not a cheap restaurant, but it is an experience restaurant, a party restaurant, a special occasion restaurant. Absolutely to return.

Ducked in from the rain without a reservation. Happy to seat us and treat us well. Service was fun and attentive. Food was delicious and unique. We laughed, enjoyed and felt warmed by our dining experience.

Totally recommend it, but you have to book a table one day in advance. But it's worth it!

We enjoyed the food very much and was stylishly prepared. The portions were good. We each had a starter and a secondi piatti. The sorbets for dessert are so light that we treated ourselves to a portion for two. A “robber’s plate” would be brought to us to share without even asking. The sorbet selection is definitely recommended. What we didn't like at all was the service. We had made a reservation for four people days in advance and were seated at an oversized round table, although there were also smaller tables for four. The table conversations were rather difficult. One of the waiters kept a straight face while serving us. Not even a “please” or “bon appetit” was said, which I would expect from an upscale restaurant, which Sottosopra presents itself as. Even during the meal, no one asked us if everything was OK. The other two waiters were a bit friendlier, but also impersonal and not very attentive. When we wanted to pay, the waiter left us alone for a long time because he preferred a nice chat with obvious regulars. And another note to all future guests: be sure to check the bill!! We had 2 bottles of water on it (price €6!) even though we only ordered one. After a complaint from an Italian speaker in our group, it was corrected so smoothly that we felt like we had been “caught”. This leaves a bad overall impression, so we don't recommend the restaurant.

Completely overwhelmed head waiter with his 2 assistants and his paperwork... Worth seeing and amusing - I haven't experienced anything like that in a long time. Then a customer was doused with Aperol Spritz…. Secondi dishes were so-so, pasta was overcooked, sea bass was ok. The sorbet was very good. There is still room for improvement.

This place definitely has potential. Great patio set up and a few tables on cute little balconies. Service was very slow as many other reviewers have commented on, a few very junior staff members who seemed to need more training. Food quality was ok, but would have expected more for the price. K

This restaurant was well designed with a high quality service. The ambiance was great and they have a secluded, private courtyard where you can eat, and the table was well decorated. the service was great, with friendly waiters who were willing to give great reccomendations which were unique to the restaurant even if they were cheaper. The food was really nice and it was definitely the best restaurant we went to on our holiday.

Disappointed with this one. Especially for the service which was very slow. I had some ravioli dish that was not special, and I don't recall what the rest of my party had as no one seemed thrilled. Prepare for mosquitos when dining outside. The outside furniture was low budget.

Very pleasant front of house. We sat at the terrace and the atmosphere was lovely, although we questioned plastic chairs, as it did not match the quality of food. Which was a slight contemporary take on Italian classics. Big portions, otherwise I would have tried more dishes 😅 Overall very good experience. I look forward to the junior staff to get trained as they need to support Mr. Straight Away 🤹‍♂️ Many thanks and till next time
