I'd known the place for years but had never stopped in. Even though it wasn't on our agenda, we stopped in for a quick bite. We quickly learned it was under new management, managed by Albanians only a few months ago. The products looked inviting at first glance, and the schiacciata dough and pizza slices were good. We ordered two schiacciatas and three pizza slices, a small bottle of water, and a coffee for about €30. Definitely too much. The prices were high, and would have been justified if there had been table service, but instead they hand you a canteen-style tray and you go find a place to sit. I don't think I'll go back.

I had lunch at this self-service restaurant and was really satisfied. The food was good, fresh, and had a nice variety. The staff was friendly, and the atmosphere was clean and tidy. Excellent value for money. I'll definitely be back!

A lovely place, it feels like being transported to another world thanks to the extreme peace and tranquility afforded by the forest, not to mention the cool air. The staff is incredibly welcoming and friendly.
The atmosphere is rustic and spotlessly clean.
My husband and I tried their schiacciate, with soft bread and generous fillings. The pizzas were also tasty and well-made, with excellent flavor combinations.
Very fresh ingredients.
Excellent value for money.
The coffee is also good.
Unfortunately, they didn't have mushrooms today, but I'll be back to try their fried mushrooms.

We were there just yesterday...a couple with children. We ate very well. Self-service with genuine, top-quality products. Two very kind and friendly ladies. Next day in the cool of Vallombrosa...maybe with the grandparents, we'll choose the Santa Caterina refuge again. Thank you.

Okay, it's a self-service restaurant... and when we arrived, seeing so many people queuing to fill their trays before paying at the register, we weren't very impressed.
However, the staff behind the counter was extremely kind and smiling.
We ordered tagliatelle with fresh mushrooms (which they obviously prepare for you and then call you to collect... they're not pre-made) and they were good and plentiful.
The wine, even though it was served in a plastic cup from the jug, wasn't bad either.
Okay, it's a kiosk. And for quick food.
But it's still well-managed. If you're a bit content, you can eat in the shade and cool air.

We organized an event with over 70 people.
Everything was perfect, delicious food, and the location was welcoming.
The recently renovated venue is truly beautiful and has a huge dining room as well as outdoor space.
The owners were helpful and friendly.
