Great restaurant in the old town of Avigliana. The food is from the region and specifically from the lake, the ingredients are sourced locally from small producers. Great selection of natural wines from top vignerons of Italy and France (but not limited to..). Very cosy location within the Medieval village.

During a weekend in Avigliana, purely by chance, we were lucky enough to find it.

Excellent restaurant in the historic center of Avigliana. Few tables, excellent service and dishes. Only natural things, vegetables from the garden, mountain cheeses, meats from free-range farms. Wines produced with ancient and above all natural methods. Gianfranco the owner then knows how to explain everything you eat or drink, involving you in a tasting experience of unique and true flavours, with experience and professionalism.
We tasted, among other things, agnolotti stuffed with aubergine parmigiana and spaghetti with sturgeon carbonara, spectacular.
Thanks to Gianfranco and his staff for the excellent lunch and welcome. Absolutely worth trying, better to book.

Endroit niché dans le centre historique d'Avigliana. L'intérieur est superbe, comme dans une cave. La décoration est soignée : des tableaux au mur, à la vaisselle en terre cuite, aux verres originaux en passant par les meubles, le premier coup d'oeil est top. Le propriétaire a pris le temps de nous expliquer les plats, l'origine des produits ainsi que les vins. Dans les assiettes, tout est bon et le pain qui accompagne également. Joli choix de plats végétariens aussi. Si vous cherchez un bel endroit, une bonne cuisine italienne et du bon vin, allez-y les yeux fermés !!

Seguendo i suggerimento di TA e di Slow Food di passaggio in zona siamo giunti ad Avigliana scegliendo il San Michele. Non potevamo fare scelta migliore. Un ottimo padrone di casa ed un ottima cucina. Abbinata a vini frutto di scelte oculatezzanon ostaggio della grande distribuzione. Siamo stati contenti di scoprire questo indirizzo goloso che volentieri condividiamo su queste pagine. Se amate la buona cucina, le attenzioni ai dettagli (a cominciare dai piatti) vi troverete bene. Se poi avete voglia di investire sul vino vi saranno proposte autentiche chicche. Buon appetito

A pearl in the heart of Avigliana.
After the working day away, I decided to walk around the historic center of Avigliana and my appetite made me notice this restaurant. Small, intimate, discreet, with excellent jazz background music, I was able to taste typical local specialties accompanied by the friendliness and courtesy of the owner Gianfranco. Excellent cuisine, local raw materials and an organic cellar from which I tasted a very pleasant red of Ciliegiolo and Sangiovese; being organic wines, free of sulphites, no headaches.
I highly recommend.
