Ristorante San Francesco In Assisi

This restaurant in Assisi has a very pleasant atmosphere and the service is exemplary. The food was delicious; I can wholeheartedly recommend this wonderful restaurant in the enchanting old town of Assisi.

Right in front of the Basilica Superiore, this café is a must-see. The interior is a veritable treasure trove of local delicacies, with a truly impressive selection of artisanal products perfect for souvenirs. The café is tastefully decorated and meticulously crafted. Beyond the atmosphere, the quality is top-notch: excellent coffee and excellent breakfasts. A perfect blend of flavor and tradition. Highly recommended!

In Assisi, you go up and down... Even to enter shops and public establishments, there are steps to climb... For someone with walking difficulties or in a wheelchair, it's truly difficult! Luckily, this business had thought of this and set up an outdoor area accessible to disabled people! So we stopped for lunch here. And we were lucky! In addition to being greeted by attentive and kind staff, we ate really well. A generous and delicious platter of local cured meats was served to us, accompanied by a delicious local wine. We left satisfied, even if the bill was a little (just a little) more expensive than it looked... But that's to be expected, given the tourist traffic here.

Such a fantastic bar, I fell in love with the atmosphere and design

We enter and find a seat, tired but serene at the beginning of our pilgrimage. We sit down, order coffee and—with the naiveté of those who still believe in life's certainties—a cream puff. The waitress looks at us bewildered, as if we'd asked for a 13th-century Tibetan dish. "What's a cream puff?" she asks. I calmly explain what it is. She nods, goes to consult with her colleague, and then comes the final blow: "A cream puff? No, it doesn't exist." In that moment, we understand that miracles may happen in Assisi, but they don't concern pastry. We remain like this, pilgrims of taste, wondering whether the cream puff has been erased from creation or whether, more simply, we've gone to the wrong bar. In the end, as consolation, I opted for a Sicilian cannoli. At that point, we surrender to the fact that gastronomic geography, in some bars, is an opinion. The coffee was good, for goodness' sake. But the feeling of having ended up in a parallel dimension where cream puffs were never invented and cannoli pop up everywhere... that remains.

This is what an authentic italian bar should be. Good food, wide choice both sweet and savoury. Great location, right in front of the st.Francis basilica. The service could get a little slow during peak time, but the staff is always nice, even when they are very busy. Prices are a little high, but it's quite normal giving the location.

Restaurant in a top location, right in front of the Basilica of San Francesco. Truly amazing food, everything delicious, and super service. And the gorgonzola… the best I've ever eaten in my life 😂 I almost asked them to take it home!

Cozy bar and really good teas. It's a shame about the dry, not-so-fresh pastries and the unfriendly service. The waiter, after rushing us to order, literally threw the receipt on the table even though we hadn't finished our order. Fair prices.

The food is excellent and it's convenient, being just steps from the Basilica of San Francesco. A variety of food is available at both the restaurant and the bar. The prices are a bit high, to be honest, but given the prime location of a popular tourist destination, that's understandable.
