You can't come to Siena without eating at the Osteria dei Rossi. Refined and tasty food, in full Sienese tradition. Friendly and pleasant staff. Warm and welcoming environment.

As always you will find a family atmosphere, typical Sienese cuisine... always sublime... then they accept dogs... what more can I say?

Excellent Tuscan osteria, where you can taste the good cousin in a relaxed and informal environment.
The welcome was good and the girl who served us was very nice.
The value for money is right and the portions are generous.
If you happen to be in the right period don't miss the fried porcini mushrooms, they are delicious.
The inn is not far (on foot) from Piazza del Campo and therefore easily accessible for tourists.
For tourists... starting from this inn:
Via dei Rossi: This street, characterized by noble palaces and artisan shops, is an excellent starting point. Start your walk by admiring the facades of the buildings and immerse yourself in the Middle Ages; continuing along Via dei Rossi, you will arrive at Piazza Salimbeni, dominated by the imposing Palazzo Salimbeni, historical seat of the Monte dei Paschi di Siena. This square is an ideal place for a coffee break and to observe the daily life of the Sienese.
From Piazza Salimbeni, take Via di Città, one of the main streets of the historic center. Here you will find numerous shops, restaurants and bars.
The final destination of every visitor: Piazza del Campo. This shell-shaped square is the beating heart of Siena. Admire the Palazzo Pubblico with the Torre del Mangia, the Fonte Gaia and be enchanted by its beauty.
What to do in Piazza del Campo:
* Climb the Torre del Mangia: To enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of the city.
* Visit the Palazzo Pubblico: Admire the paintings of Simone Martini and other great Sienese masters.
* Participate in the Palio (if you're lucky): If you visit Siena during the months of July or August, you might witness this famous horse race.
Surroundings of Piazza del Campo:
* Siena Cathedral: A masterpiece of Gothic architecture, with its black and white striped facade and inlaid floor.
* Basilica of San Domenico: The relics of Saint Catherine of Siena are preserved here.
Siena is divided into 17 districts, each with its own history and traditions. Visit the headquarters of the districts to immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the Palio.
Advice:
Siena is a city to be discovered by walking aimlessly, admiring the medieval buildings and artisan workshops.
Don't miss the opportunity to taste the panforte, ricciarelli and Chianti wine.
Visit the surrounding villages: San Gimignano, Monteriggioni and Pienza are just some of the unmissable destinations in the surroundings of Siena.
