Ten years ago, we had one of the most memorable meals of our lives at Roma Sparita – a zucchini risotto so exceptional that it remained firmly in our minds ever since. So when planning this trip to Rome, there was no question we would return.
We booked our table weeks in advance and arrived on time on a warm June evening. Unfortunately, there was no risotto on the menu this time – likely due to the season, as our first visit had been in October. Instead, we opted for dishes with fresh porcini mushrooms: pasta with porcini (flavorful, though lightly seasoned) and beef with porcini, which sadly turned out to be quite tough.
Service was mixed – occasionally friendly, but mostly slow, distracted, and clearly under pressure. The white wine, despite two requests, was served at room temperature and only began to chill once placed in an ice bucket at the table.
One particularly disappointing aspect was the attitude of the hostess, who reacted quite curtly and dismissively to walk-in guests. Given the restaurant’s popularity and high turnover, one might expect a warmer welcome.
All in all, the food was decent, but given the increased prices and the cherished memory of our first visit, our expectations were higher. The magic of that first experience, unfortunately, did not return.

Pranzo tipico romano....connesso di coreografia dei camerieri....Roberto..uno spettacolo...di origine sarda ma " profugo" alla ricerca di stabilità...è riuscito a trasformare la nostra pausa pranzo di una torbida giornata di giugno...in un momento goliardico e rilassante....ps...portiamo a casa i cestini della cacio e pepe...porta bene 😁

We had a group of 9 and we came a day earlier than our reservation as we made a mistake on the dates. They found a way to accommodate us despite the fact they were very busy. The food was delicious and our server, Roberto was excellent and a lot of fun.

Excellent Roman cuisine and staff.
We spent 106 euros for a bottle of wine, water, amaro, a first course, two second courses, two side dishes and a dessert, a fair price for Rome and for the quality. Orgasmic oxtail stew.

The caccio e Pepe served with a cheese crust is exactly what they say it is, very good! It's worth it!!
We tried the carbonara and it wasn't that good. Try the caccio e pepe and you won't regret it!!
They have bottles of wine at good prices to go with it and the service is very friendly!! Great experience!
