We come to the Rio Argento about once every six months. The food is always perfect; the restaurant is built almost in the middle of the trout pond. The tiramisu for dessert is highly recommended.

The place was quite busy. The grilled trout was not much. We had to wait quite a while (too long) for the bill. However, the surroundings with the pond are very nicely decorated.

One of the best family-run restaurants you will ever have a chance to visit. I am relatively new to the restaurant but I immediately felt welcomed and cared for. I visited the location with my soon-to-be wife Dina and my extended family Franz who have known Sandro for many years. Sandro and team made me feel very comfortable and I will visit this place forever now. I have eaten around the world but this restaurant is absolutely top class. Such fresh ingredients and new menus appearing. Thank you very much again to a new friend.

The ambiance with the pond looks really nice. We were passing through on our motorcycles, and even though we only wanted a coffee at lunchtime, we were warmly welcomed by the proprietor and had a good chat. Unfortunately, I can't comment on the food, but the restaurant seemed fully booked, and I would definitely recommend trying it.

The owner was very kind and friendly. Even though everything was booked, he managed to find two seats. We had a good meal for a reasonable price. I think we'll return if we're just passing through. Recommended.

02/09/2025: First time at Valanghe. The place is very welcoming. The staff is courteous and attentive. The food is good and beautifully presented. The flan is delicious. The grilled meat is plentiful and cooked to perfection. (The sausages are missing from the photo... eat them before taking the photo!)
02/09/2025: Excellent almost home made tasting food. Huge variety of meat dishes. We had a wonderful local white wine - semi dry. Excellent service.

13/09/2025: Very clean and well-maintained hotel. In a busy location, so it's hard to rate. Very attentive and friendly staff. Just my opinion: the €20 per night supplement for a dog seems a bit high.
09/09/2025: It was supposed to be a perfect overnight stay, halfway through our route to southern Italy. It turned out there was a wedding taking place at the hotel at the same time. We didn't want to be surrounded by noise. Fortunately, we managed to reach an agreement with the owner and got our deposit back from Booking.com. I must admit, the owner tried to find alternative accommodation in the area, but all the hotels were fully booked. The owner's friendly approach was definitely a plus, but the downside was that there was no information about the concurrent event after booking.
