A warm and welcoming refuge, serving the best polenta, taleggio, and wild boar you've ever tasted, along with excellent artisanal grappas. The refuge is carefully managed by two kind and friendly young people, ready to offer directions and advice on local trails.

A place steeped in the history and magic of these mountains. The warm and welcoming food of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines, the grappas flavored with herbs and berries gathered nearby, served and prepared by the two young owners, with their warmth and kindness: if you're passing through, you can't miss them!

The proximity to the small Cavone Lake and the Dardagna Waterfalls makes the area extremely scenic and evocative, especially in autumn. The Cavone Refuge is a restaurant serving typical mountain cuisine, with hearty dishes from the Emilian tradition, perfect for recharging your batteries. The welcome is warm and welcoming, with a casual and friendly atmosphere.

Had lunch after a hike to the Dardagna waterfalls, they were even kind enough to store my motorcycle gear, even though it was summer... polenta and wild boar with mushrooms... blueberry cake... everything was good

Friendly and courteous. The polenta with venison and the strozzapreti with sausage and mushrooms were excellent. A good platter of cured meats and cheeses.
