Ristorante Pizzeria Rustica In Piazzatorre

This is the first time I've given a review 5 stars because I think there's always room for improvement, but in this case I don't feel like giving less; everything was perfect. I arrived at 8:00 PM on a Saturday evening in early February while I was touring the valley with my camper. The place was packed, as is usual for Saturday nights at bars. I was told I'd have to wait at least 20 people to be seated, but after less than 10 minutes I was shown to a lovely table with wooden benches all to myself! I'd arrived craving pizza, but once I opened the menu and saw the dishes on the other tables, I couldn't resist ordering something typically wintery. So I started with a platter of "local salami," lard, and a nest of polenta with mushrooms. Once it arrived, I was worried I wouldn't be able to finish everything I'd ordered (it was easily worth 2x). The salami was very good, and the lard melted in my mouth! The pizza boasts a very light dough, perfect cooking, and quality ingredients (the olives were real! Taggiasca type, not the plastic ones in tin cans). I didn't leave a single crumb on my plate, both because I don't like food to go to waste and because the quality of the food was so good that nothing was left behind. So much so that I rolled back to the camper down the hill, so full and satisfied! This satisfaction was further enhanced by the truly generous bill and the excellent and very friendly service provided by an army of "mamme" (and one girl) who liven up the dining room. 6 stars if they had also served local craft beers :)

Excellent pizza, excellent service, excellent atmosphere in the heart of Piazzatorre

If you want to treat yourself, you have to stop here! First of all, I love those who still serve breadsticks, which have disappeared from almost every restaurant, and then the pasta dishes are a spectacle! Fresh, delicious, and plentiful but not over the top. I had the pizzoccheri and my companion had the tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms, both delicious. For the second course, I had the mixed grill, and here the bar was raised even further: tender, flavorful, perfectly cooked meat, and a side of polenta taragna, excellent. My companion (who is vegetarian) had the grilled branzi, and I stole a piece from him! Finally, the homemade cheesecake finished this meal perfectly. You pay for quality, and it's worth it. The veranda seating is really nice, and the service is very friendly. (The €30-€40 price range includes water, two beers, coffee, and a cover charge.)

The food is good. Excellent quality platters. The rabbit is very good, reminding me of my grandmother's. Don't expect salami; we're Bergamaschi, a bit reserved, but respectful. Eligio Magri wines are worth trying. The Patrizio is remarkable. The pizza is good. Very fair prices. I like it there. I have a house there, and I go there often.

Excellent lunch with excellent value for money. Perhaps the service could be improved, as one person, even the most kind and competent, couldn't serve all the tables. Overall, a great experience.

Good pizza! The gluten-free pizza was also very good, crispy and thin. 😍 The staff were super friendly and attentive to gluten-free options. Everything was delicious! The meat and cold cuts were top-notch!
