I'm happy to return to Le Arcate. The smile and kindness welcome you as soon as you open the door. We ordered mixed appetizers, first courses, and second courses. Among the appetizers, varied and flavorful, there was no shortage of tigelle. The traditional Bolognese first courses, with tortellini and tagliatelle, tickled the palate. The second courses were less impressive. The cotoletta alla Bolognese was delicious, but the tagliata... spectacular. Congratulations to everyone. I've marked this place in my diary with the note: 'A must-visit every time I'm in Bologna!'

I went there today for the first time with my baby, and I have to say that as soon as I walked in, I found the staff ready and attentive, understanding the situation. It was almost 3:00, and my tired and hungry baby couldn't wait to sit down and eat. And after yet another "no, sorry, the kitchen's closed," they were actually helpful, welcoming us and serving us in less than five minutes. The dining room was clean and tidy, the staff were extremely kind and knowledgeable, and the food was excellent. The tagliatelle with Bolognese ragù was delicious, and the gnocco fritto was delicious. What can I say? It was sublime. Highly recommended. Thanks again for everything ❤️

Well, I'll be honest: everything was good and the food was excellent. Excellent service and very kind staff, a very nice and comfortable atmosphere. If I had to find a flaw, it was the bottle of water brought to the table that wasn't sealed, so I assumed it was filtered tap water. Great place though 👍😎 I recommend it.

I had lunch at this restaurant and the experience was excellent in every way. The atmosphere is elegant and welcoming, the staff extremely courteous and attentive. The dishes are meticulously crafted, tastefully presented, and made with high-quality ingredients. Each course was a pleasant surprise, with balanced flavors and perfect cooking. Excellent value. A place I'll definitely return to!

Le Arcate truly stands out as one of the best restaurants we visited in Bologna. The service was exceptional, and Davide deserves special praise for being incredibly attentive, friendly, and professional throughout our dinner. His warm hospitality made the experience even more memorable. We tried several dishes and every single one was excellent. The Tagliatelle classiche al ragù bolognese was rich, flavourful, and perfectly executed. The Linguine alle vongole lupini e tarallo napoletano was fresh and beautifully balanced, with the tarallo adding a lovely crunch. The Frittura mista di pesce con paranza e verdure croccanti was extremely fresh, well-seasoned, and perfectly crispy. We finished with their homemade Crostatina con crema al cioccolato e frutti di bosco, an absolutely delightful dessert with a buttery crust, silky chocolate cream, and bright berries. A pleasant surprise was the Birra media bionda on tap—rare to find in Italy, where most places serve bottled beer—and it paired perfectly with our dishes. To make the evening even more special, Davide surprised us with two pistachio liqueurs for our anniversary. It was the perfect ending to a perfect meal. Highly recommended—we’ll definitely return on our next trip to Bologna!

Overall, there is promise here. The pricing is fair, the team clearly cares, and the foundation is solid. With a bit more warmth, confidence, and flavor, this place could easily grow into something specia, perhaps even on par with Trattoria di Tribunale in Parma one day. We tried the pizza calzone and the Parmesan cream tortellini. The calzone dough was lovely and light, chewy, and well-baked yet the ricotta felt oddly dry and crumbly. The tortellini looked beautiful on the plate, yet the flavor fell short; the Parmesan’s umami was faint, the seasoning too little, and a tast of flour from the roux was noticeable from the sauce. The service showed genuine ambition, which we truly appreciated, though a bit of stress seemed to ripple through the room and reach the guests. The ambience has real potential. The high ceilings and large windows give the space character, but the bright, cool lighting and plain décor made it feel unfinished, as if it hasn’t quite decided what it wants to be.
