We came to dinner at La Terrazza at the insistence of my brother who had been there once and had a great experience, a shame that it was very different for me and not only that, also the whole family including my poor brother who and I was disappointed with how it went.
In general the place appears very simple, home tables are a little shabby, cramped spaces in which to settle down once seated, cutlery, glasses, plates and chairs all different, it seems as if it has been restocked from the flea market not to mention the used, in short, it is there if wanted, it might be liked if obviously it also ate well.
Could this have been the bad luck of the evening?
I don't think so because everyone at our table, despite the price being really low, didn't eat well.
The land appetizer was good, not generous in quantity but good, as was the focaccia, that was exceptional which is why I only rate 2 stars on the food, everything else except the roasted/baked potatoes is to be forgotten .
The Tuscan soup was a minestrone in pieces with the addition of bread, the vegetables were certainly fresh because they were crunchy anyway, giving that crunchiness that people talk about today...
The scallop was terrible, without any sauce, dry and tough, arriving in full rigor mortis, not to mention the beans all'uccelletto, the workhorse of Tuscan cuisine, what I was served was the classic can of beans to the Breton bonduele simply reheated, the house wine worse than the Ronco.
Even the other courses of the other diners at our table did not receive great compliments, perhaps the parmigiana was saved, according to my brother, the good things were not on the menu..
All in all, very disappointing.
The pizzas on the other hand looked good, maybe they will be worth trying, but only for the pizza, the restaurant is out of standard.
The menu is a sheet of paper from the pork butcher where the dishes are transcribed, the price is not known and if you find the dish described crossed out, it means it doesn't fit.
I'm sorry that the lady who served us didn't even ask herself if everything was going well, it was clear that it wasn't like that, a few precautions would be enough and whoever is in the kitchen tastes what she prepares and serves to the customers, the one who loses out in the end is the property.

Perhaps the fact that they enjoyed it on a Saturday evening penalized us, but they should know where to stop based on the number of seats. In all this, going in the middle of the week we could enjoy a decent pizza that could be improved
Excellent price quality

Salvatore brought Tomei” and its menu to Montenero. Pizza, raw squash and aubergines, and everything that has made "Tomei" famous in Livorno.
