I’ve been to Il Vecchio Muro several times and it never disappoints. Service is fast, professional and if they’re not too busy, your meal will be ready in minutes. Love the outdoor sitting in the summertime. I usually come for dinner. Reservations recommended during high season.

Authentic food, carefully prepared (I had the pork shank with broccoli and the other day a calzone). The atmosphere is simple but welcoming. The owner is a kind person. Easy to find, located near the aqueduct in the historic center.

I had lunch at this restaurant. The entrance is distinctive, and the food was excellent, especially the meat. The first courses were equally good. Excellent value for money.

We found this restaurant while strolling through Sulmona—a wonderful discovery! We arrived on a holiday without a reservation, with a dog. Within five minutes, they seated us, taking great care to choose the most suitable table so as not to have our pup in the middle of the crowd. We ordered, and the food arrived in no time. Excellent food, excellent quality. The attentive and thorough staff are definitely a plus. A truly positive experience, highly recommended!

Per staccare dal caldo estivo di sulmona, il vecchio muro è una piacevole meta per pranzare all’ombra di un gazebo ventilato affianco al giardino. Primi piatti apprezzati e carne molto tenera. Per il dessert chiedete allo chef. Il conto è leggermente sopra la media ma dignitoso, ottima esperienza. Unico neo negativo, qualche sciocco fraintendimento con l’ordine e la gestione del servizio.

Ci è stato consigliato di andare in questo ristorante da una persona del luogo. Il cibo super ottimo, peccato i tempi di attesa un po’ lunghi per ordinare.

Ristorante La Foce

19/10/2025: Small, family-run restaurant. A few dishes, but very good. Prices are slightly high but acceptable. They might be a bit of a problem if you have a dog and it's not very quiet.
19/10/2025: We discovered La Foce during a stroll through the heart of Scanno, and immediately felt at home. We tried the cazzellitti con le fuoja (a type of pasta) and the sagnette con i fagioli (a type of pasta with beans): extraordinary dishes, prepared with such care and love that you can taste in every bite. Everything is homemade and cooked to order, a true culinary experience! The atmosphere is warm and familiar, the owners were extremely kind and welcomed us with great warmth. It's clear that a tradition is being carried on here with passion and dedication. We were delighted and can't wait to return. A must-see for anyone visiting Scanno who wants to enjoy authentic local cuisine.
