09/12/2025: We went to this restaurant based on the reviews, and I have to say the experience was even better! I had the kidney skewers and pork snout, which were absolutely amazing. My partner had the salami and bigoli with ragù, which were also spectacular. Excellent value! Four courses, two desserts, and a bottle of wine for €25, cost us €86 in total. We'll definitely be back! 08/12/2025: Excellent!!!! This is my assessment of this small but well-maintained restaurant in the center of Casteggio. The restaurant is well-maintained and quiet, thanks to the owner's preference for seating no more than six people. It's perhaps a little chilly given the room's temperature. Massimiliano personally prepares delicious, original, and flavorful dishes, beautifully balanced, showcasing the flavors of the Oltrepó region. Try the suckling pig in tuna sauce, the kidney with red onions, and the shocking pink rice with beetroot and mustard drops. Furthermore, Massimiliano shares his knowledge with his customers, and does so with kindness and courtesy, free from any pretensions. You can tell he truly loves his job. A true discovery, worth trying again and again. Excellent. The table settings could be improved: given the cotton napkins, perhaps a real tablecloth would be better than paper placemats. The price is reasonable for the quality of the ingredients, all locally sourced. In conclusion, a restaurant to return to again and again.
