I don't know if I'll ever find the right words to describe how special my stay at the Hotel Notre Maison in Vetan was. It's one of those places that makes you forget the rest of the world. Arriving in Vetan, at 1,800 meters above sea level, is an adventure in itself: the road winds through spectacular mountains, and when you finally see the stone and wood chalet, nestled in a sunny and quiet village, you know you're in a magical place. We were welcomed like old friends by the family who runs the hotel. There's a human warmth that immediately strikes you: the fireplace in the common room, the scent of wood, and the smiles of those who make you feel at home. Our room was the perfect refuge: simple but well-kept, with handmade wooden furniture and a view of the mountains that left me speechless every morning. The peaks of the Aosta Valley seemed so close you could almost touch them. Dinner was a journey through the flavors of traditional Aosta Valley cuisine. The Valpellinese soup, with that soaked bread and melt-in-your-mouth fontina cheese, was pure poetry. And then the polenta with stew, so rich and flavorful I had to ask for seconds! Each dish was prepared with local ingredients, and the staff passionately explained where each product came from. The wine? A red from the valley that made the evening even more perfect. The moment that stole my heart, however, was after a snowshoe hike along the trails that start right from the hotel. They provided us with snowshoes free of charge, and walking through the fresh snow, surrounded by a surreal silence and breathtaking views, was unforgettable. Back at the hotel, we all gathered around the fireplace in the dining room, with its large windows framing the sunset over the mountains. The owner told us the history of the hotel, founded in 1984 from his father's dream and opened in 1994 after years of work building everything by hand, from beds to chairs. It was like listening to a family story, and we felt part of that dream. I can't help but speak of Vetan's tranquility: no noise, just the sounds of nature. One evening, sitting on the terrace in the sun, a herbal tea in hand, we watched the stars rise above the mountain peaks. It was a moment of total peace, the kind that makes you think, "This is paradise." Everything, from the welcome to the food, from the view to the feeling of home, was perfect. 100 out of 10? Even better. I can't wait to return!

This restaurant is located in a small village called Vetan, a strategic point with a breathtaking view of the Grivola right in front, the Ruitor to the right, and the Becca di Nona and Mont Emilius to the left. From there, you can also set off for the Fallère refuge. Here, you can enjoy excellent Aosta Valley dishes, excellent wines, and the staff is professional, friendly, and helpful, especially when it comes to choosing menus for special occasions.

I loved this place, which a friend recommended! My only regret is that I didn't stay long enough! The food is fabulous, made with authentic ingredients, even my two-year-old son loved it. The mountain trails are fantastic, the staff is extremely kind and helpful, the traditional room had everything you need and a beautiful little balcony. Plus, we escaped the terrible heat and at 1,800 meters, it was wonderful. I'll definitely be back!! The prices are also really low and competitive! Thank you!! ❤️❤️❤️
