A very pleasant evening in this beautiful restaurant in Stezzano spent in a magical atmosphere in a truly unique and very intimate context full of details. Not a huge restaurant but very very nice which I immediately appreciated. First of all, the outdoor area framed by a beautiful jasmine is very welcoming, as are the owner Luca and his father who welcomed us with kindness and friendliness. The impeccable service. Excellent food, I recommend the casoncelli with sautéed bacon and the boned rabbit with taragna polenta. The tiramisu was also really tasty. Everything was delicious and the ingredients were of excellent quality. We will return very soon to Fornel n5 and we highly recommend it.

Top place, top staff, super top quality of food, the chef, I emphasize chef or rather cook, Luca knows how to involve you in his cuisine, revisiting traditional Bergamo and non-Bergamo traditions and a place to visit and try p.s. his polenta taragna is sublime and lastly, for what I ate and drank well and the absurd work of all the staff behind it I would have given him more than what I spent

This is a rarity: a small and value-for-money osteria that is devoted to the finest interpretation and reinvention of our local cuisine. I'm a local guy and, this being my favorite restaurant, I'd like for foreigners to know about it.
For many years now, chef Luca Gritti has been dressing his heavenly risottos with both traditional and surprising ingredients, including blueberries, pistachios, the choicest cheeses from the territory, and more. The menu is not vast and constantly changes, for this is a small place where you'll want to make a reservation, but whatever you get, it will be prepared with the utmost passion and expertise. Other standouts include a cheese-oozing polenta taragna, braised and slow-cooked delicacies (the porchetta is to die for), the most tender and flavorful saltimbocca, antipasti centered on local cured meats, scrumptious home made desserts, and one-offs such as eggs with a bacon topping resting on a bed of chestnut puree (!).
The wine list looks good to me, though I'm no expert, and parking is always plentiful either out front or nearby.
My childhood village of Stezzano is itself worth a visit. After your meal, you should definitely stroll for gelato and take in the piazza with its impressive church of San Giovanni Battista (built 1673). Or you can always hop in the car and visit the relaxing Santuario della Madonna dei Campi, which goes back to the 16th century and is a renowned pilgrimage destination set in the middle of nature. And there you have it: your plan for a most enjoyable lunch or dinner is set!
