We went to this trattoria for lunch at the recommendation of some friends to celebrate a birthday (about twenty people). The place is very welcoming, a typical osteria with minimal yet very refined and distinctive decor. The parking lot outside is spacious and convenient, as parking in the surrounding area is difficult. The staff is friendly, helpful, and patient (especially considering our three rambunctious children). The food is definitely top-notch. The osso buco risotto was very good. The elephant ear cutlet was gigantic and delicious. The other first courses we tried (mushroom risotto and pizzoccheri) were also highly recommended! In short, if you want an osteria where you can eat well and relax, this is the place.

Excellent food quality, everything perfect, average prices

We came here last night (the two guys on the road trip with the Beetle!), the food was perfect, the owner was very hospitable and great to chat to! All the best, and hope to see you again in the future!

Overall, an excellent restaurant for the price. We ate well, with generous portions. The restaurant is well-run, with good timing and tasty dishes.

This restaurant is worth seeking out. It's a bit off the beaten track and offers a good spot for a great meal in the evening. We've been here twice so far and tried different dishes each time. All the food and drinks were highly recommended. There are always new dishes, as the menu changes regularly. The service from the owner is very friendly, good, and helpful. The restaurant has a classic, beautiful decor. We felt very comfortable and will definitely come back if we return.

A great time with the family. Everything is fresh and the food is very good. Reasonably priced. Worth a visit if you want to eat in a traditional setting, easy to access with parking. They also speak French. I recommend it.

Excellent lunch with good value and friendly staff

Tucked away down a few quiet alleyways from the Sheraton, Trattoria Osteria Nisciolano doesn’t look like much at first glance — but the moment you step inside, you’re greeted by that intimate, local charm that makes you feel like you’ve discovered something special. It’s been an unusually hot week in early August, and we’ve been melting everywhere we go. But by the time we arrived at 8:15 pm, the fans were on and the temperature was pleasantly tolerable. The service was on the slower side, but wonderfully warm and accommodating — they guided us through the menu and helped us choose the best dishes of the night. We shared lasagna, beef with peppercorn sauce, pumpkin ravioli, and carbonara. All were delicious, but if I had to rank them: 1️⃣ Carbonara – perfectly creamy and flavorful 2️⃣ Pumpkin ravioli – rich and comforting with a hint of sweetness 3️⃣ Lasagna – hearty and satisfying 4️⃣ Beef with peppercorn sauce – still enjoyable, just less memorable than the pastas We paired the meal with both a white and red wine from their short list (each the sole option of their color). They weren’t branded bottles, but both were perfectly acceptable with the food. Dessert was a treat: vanilla ice cream and a coffee-ice cream drink laced with what we think was a cream liqueur — the perfect way to end the evening. We loved the ambiance, the genuine service, and of course, the food so much that we’ve already decided to come back later this week before we leave Cernobbio. A must-visit if you’re in the area and want a true local dining experience.

Sono tornato indietro nel tempo non appena entrato: una trattoria degna di tale nome, atmosfera piacevole quasi familiare, porzioni abbondanti e prezzo adeguato, consigliato sia per un pasto veloce, sia per una piacevole tavolata.
