Matilde's Restaurant has a family atmosphere. It's not luxurious, the decor is still 1980s-esque, but it's well-kept and clean. We ordered two starters, homemade pasta, Pecorara rings, and a super-tasty lasagna. The lasagna was lavishly filled with homemade pasta, a mixed roast with a real meat flavor, chips, and a salad. Two coffees. The price was very reasonable. We were very full. I recommend booking. Super friendly staff.

Today, Saturday, October 11th, lunch after a hike from Piana delle Mele to Bocca di Valle. At Matilde's, the first courses are exceptional, with homemade pasta—the cannelloni, for me, are the best—before moving on to the grilled dishes, with succulent, high-quality meats. A restaurant that upholds the tradition of authentic, hearty Abruzzo cuisine. Nicola, the owner, welcomes you right to home. I recommend it to anyone in the area. Keep up the good work.

28/02/2026: We had dinner, all fish-based. Everything was delicious and plentiful.
28/02/2026: The location is charming and welcoming. The fish is definitely fresh and top-quality. I really enjoyed the mixed roast and the tuna tartare, but I must say that every dish is always delicious. The impeccable service is evident in the preparation and passion with which the waiter served us. A well-deserved 5 stars!

11/08/2025: Visiting Tornareccio for honey and mosaics, we stopped for lunch at this restaurant, which I'd bookmarked for its good reviews, just outside the town. The dining room was so-so, set up for events but a bit anonymous, but the food was truly good and plentiful, especially the chitarra al ragù, which was almost a one-course meal due to the abundance of meat (veal, lamb, and pork). Truffle and sausage ravioli were very tasty and generously portioned. Industrial-style semifreddo, but well-made. The owner and waiter (perhaps his son) were very friendly and efficient. The cover charge was a bit high for the standard of the place, but perhaps justified by the cloth tablecloths. Overall, the prices were fair. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.
