We had dinner at this restaurant on the advice of a friend, a simple raw appetizer but with pieces of scampi and especially red shrimp that were very appreciable. The gobetti and oysters were good and the possibility of choosing between the various qualities was pleasant, the sore point was the missing clams or sea truffles but which should have been present on the plate. A trio of truly gourmet tartares! Seasoned just enough, my favorite was the amberjack. Slight disappointment for the first courses, the gnocco was not homemade and the risotto slightly overcooked and with very fragrant and not very tasty summer truffle, on the other hand I absolutely recommend not missing the ravioli, but above all the fregola, extraordinary, truly explosive flavor and expertly blended ingredients. Moving on to the second courses, a pleasant discovery: the imperial red shrimps with rosemary and myrtle and the 1.5kg Catalan-style monkfish tail, truly excellent. Excellent wine list, we opted for an extraordinary Ruinas (if you pass by, don't miss it). Very nice atmosphere, soft lounge music, good lighting, place immersed in the historic African neighborhood of Rome in front of the famous devil's chair. The very elegant, competent and always ready to offer their services, perfect waiting times.

My parents and I came, lively over-sixties, very demanding when it comes to food; we were treated very well, quality products from the prosecco offered to the taste of the fish, passing through the first courses that were truly excellent and cooked with skill. Commendable service, a little bit of a wait between the appetizer and the first courses but nothing extreme or unacceptable, moreover the waiter politely warned us apologizing. Special mention for the desserts, not only those offered by them but in particular the sebadas on the menu with strawberry tree honey, highly recommended. Finally a good place to eat fish in Rome.

As I always do when I travel, I choose one or two days for a gastronomic experience in the country I'm visiting. I accepted the suggestion of my Italian friend, who lives next door to the restaurant, and I wasn't disappointed. I ate a delicious oyster that reminded me of my beloved Ecuador, famous for this type of dish from its coastline. The risotto with shrimp and truffle (cut in front of me on the plate by the kind waiter) was simply divine. Perugia (an Italian city famous for dishes with local truffles) forgive me, but Maestrale surpassed them. Which doesn't mean that the Perugians weren't excellent, but the Romans at Maestrale gave "that extra something" in the preparation of the dish. It's more expensive, but the price is fair for the quality of the cuisine, the space and, especially, the service staff. I was served by the waiters Michele, Massimo and Sara. And of course, the exceptional kitchen staff! Grazie mille per tutti!

Maestrale is a great discovery for those who love fish: very fresh and cooked with great care. Each dish is well presented and full of flavor. The place is elegant, the service is courteous and professional. However, the quality-price ratio is not among the best: you expect something more, both in the portions and in the details. Overall, a positive experience but with room for improvement.

Sono stato nuovamente - dopo circa sei mesi - a cena in questo locale e mi sono trovato, come sempre, molto bene.
Locale accogliente ed elegante con anche gradevole spazio esterno (rumoroso) su Piazza Callisto; possibilità di prenotare una sala riservata (massimo 12/15 persone) con costo extra.
Molto bello ed elegante l’arredamento ed il tovagliame, belli i piatti, più che dignitosi bicchieri e le posate.
Menù semplicemente fantastico: il pesce la fa da padrone ma è possibile avere anche qualche piatto di carne/terra. Porzioni abbondanti ed impiattamento di alta qualità.
Grande scelta di ostriche; da non perdere i ravioli con impasto al nero di seppia.
Personale: professionale, attento, gentile, mai invadente.
Lista dei vini adeguata al livello del menù.
Prezzo non economico ma sostanzialmente in linea con l’altissima qualità.
Ho difficoltà a trovare un difetto.
Straconsigliato, anzi…da non perdere!

Locale grazioso ed accogliente, musica di sottofondo gradevole al giusto tono ed il servizio professionale hanno reso la serata davvero piacevole e distensiva. Ottimi gli antipasti, primi piatti molto gustosi (soprattutto la pasta con pesto di pistacchio e gamberi), dolci superlativi. Ben fornita la cantina. Costo adeguato all'offerta.
