THE MACRO: WHERE CONTEMPORARY ART MEETS THE CITY: The MACRO – Museum of Contemporary Art is located in Rome's Quartiere IV (Salario) at Via Nizza, 138. THE ORIGINS: PERONI BEER AND ROMAN INDUSTRY The Peroni beer factory operated on this site since the early 20th century, producing beer and ice and storing food in cold storage. Production ceased in 1971, leaving the site to a long period of abandonment. END OF PRODUCTION AND CULTURAL REVIVAL Part of the area was subsequently acquired by the City of Rome and transformed into a museum in 1999. A few years later, the extensive renovation project was entrusted to French architect Odile Decq. Today, it appears as an example of a "happy" fusion between industrial archaeology and contemporary design, making it a place of production of "culture." SUBLIME CLICHÉ: ROME SEEN THROUGH THE EYES OF FOREIGN ARTISTS: During my visit, I explored the "Sublime Cliché" exhibition, where international artists interpret Rome with new eyes. Between enchantment and decadence, the eternal city is depicted through installations, photographs, and works that blend history and modernity. SERVICES AND EXPERIENCES: • Ground Floor: Library with a rich selection of books, catalogs, and art magazines • First Floor: Cozy café, perfect for a break; I enjoyed a delicious breakfast. There is also a study area. • Second Floor: Panoramic restaurant "Materia Terrazza MACRO". It is weak in terms of size and content

The museum is structurally very particular.

A large and beautiful building but with only one room with exhibits. 6 € per ticket, reasonable price for so few exhibits, what good was it that the exhibits were interesting. There is a cafe on the upper floor but I did not visit it. Relatively good shop. The negative of the museum however was the heat. I visited it in mid-June and there was no trace of coolness from the air conditioning.

Beautiful location! Great for a business lunch, an aperitif and a dinner. The outdoor terrace is super cool! Based on the food, I will return based on the first experience! Everything is very good. Top business lunch menu! Recommended

The receptionist was not able to speak English !

Nice museum but only one room to visit!

The bulding looked amazing. Unfortunately everything was closed but one exhibition (which I personally did not much like). Cool restaurants around to pass by. A very nice gift shop
