Lucca is Lucca, if you have to take the train to go to Pisa avoid it

After recent exterior renovations, Lucca station has undergone a complete makeover: it now appears much more refined, clean, and aesthetically pleasing. It's a great calling card for those arriving in the city. The renovation has successfully enhanced the historic architecture, making the entire surrounding area more welcoming and modern. A much-needed improvement that finally does justice to Lucca's beauty.

A truly beautiful and historic city, I wasn't expecting it. The center is full of churches rich in monuments. It's a shame that many of them were paid for. Nowadays, many churches, even if they aren't cathedrals, are paid for. For the rest, I really recommend visiting Lucca, especially because it's known for the great Giacomo Puccini. This charming city is worth visiting. 😊

Lucca is a beautiful town. Leave plenty of time to explore. Some restaurants close from 3pm-5pm so ideally eat lunch before 3pm. Some shops close as early as 7pm. There are lovely shops in this town.

A city I'll return to. I loved Lucca; it's welcoming, beautiful, with incredible walls for walking and cycling. It's full of life and history. It's worth it.

One of our favorite places in Europe. The small town charm and personality in Lucca make it easy to relax and soak in the walled city. Our most recent visit we celebrated a birthday and also got some very sad news...the Grand Universe Hotel was a luxurious place to celebrate and recover. So many restaurants with fresh food we eat our fill every time.
