Ristorante Lucano In Melfi

05/08/2024: Good, quality food and that's where the happy notes end. Service up to the worst episodes of nightmare kitchens. The maître d' welcomes you at the table with the cheerfulness of an undertaker at a funeral, he displays the dishes in an unclear manner, but we manage to order; some of the diners order a tasting of appetizers and the second course and others pizza. Dinner begins for those who ordered the appetizers, and being a tasting (4 courses) it lasts quite a while, and those who ordered the pizza start to get impatient and ask why the pizza hasn't arrived and the answer is: "we serve them with the seconds..." They were politely asked if they could prepare them earlier because they had been waiting for an hour and the answer was a firm "no." Finally the second courses and the pizzas arrive one by one, one of which is wrong and since the discouragement is at embarrassing levels he is not asked to do it again at the mere thought of who knows when I will have to wait again!!!! Continuing, he is asked to bring two more beers and the maître d' of the room stops the waiter, telling him first to clean a table in the room that had become free. The older waiter (the only one who in my opinion knows the job of a waiter in that place) is embarrassed and does not contradict him. We arrive at the end of the dinner and the older waiter asks how it went and so as not to create problems we say "everything ok" smiling and he intelligently understands and apologizes. I'm sorry for writing this review, but I did it mostly for the place because the cuisine deserves it. Ah, a tip on the wine list, it's not understandable that the Ornellaia vaults cost more than an Amarone to review the price list in my opinion.
