We are in the heart of Basilicata... far from the canonical important tourist routes, but in the real Basilicata.
The town is Corleto Perticara, known in the news as an oil center but known to lovers of Risorgimento history as the town from which the Lucanian insurrection started (and we prefer history...). It was precisely here that on 16 August 1860 the women and mothers of Corleto, sewed the first tricolor flag.....and it is right here that you will find a wonderful place where you can savor excellent dishes.
Le Gourmet (this is the name of the restaurant) is a pearl that shines and contains within it 2 pearls: one pearl is the chef Antonello Guerriero who is one in name and in fact, in fact after various experiences outside Basilicata and also from Italia has decided to resurrect this country again.....his dishes are superlative and the raw materials are at the top...he revisits typical Lucanian dishes, but all with great skill and professionalism and more. ..even the fish is cooked wonderfully...last time I tasted a baked grouper fillet with a mouth-watering aubergine cream....
The second pearl that you will find in this place is Giovanna, the chef's wife and a great woman...she welcomes guests with grace worthy of other times and with great savoir-faire.... she is always composed, kind and NEVER INVADENT.. ..she is truly a great hostess.
I truly recommend you to come across this sensorial experience....I'm sure you will come out truly satisfied.
Oh I forgot....now chef Guerriero has also launched on the market (for now a niche one) a pasta typical of these parts and which only the "ancient" connoisseurs of the genre know: the "mbell-mbant" a pasta which the ancient women used it as short pasta to especially accompany legumes... surely the women of the Lucanian insurrection also prepared it for their husbands, children, brothers... don't miss it, it truly is a masterpiece!!!

We went for lunch, on the recommendation of the locals. We couldn't have chosen better. Antonello, owner, absolutely professional and helpful. Starters and first courses were nothing short of exceptional. The amazing potato gnocchi. Fair prices and generous portions.

Nel centro di Corleto Perticara (alta Val d'Agri) si colloca l'eccellenza culinaria di questo ristorante, che propone una cucina di alto livello ed in particolar modo sorprende positivamente i palati piu' esigenti sul versante del pesce, nonostante si e' a 750 m. di altitudine, con combinazioni che non trascurano i prodotti del luogo.
Ne sono un esempio assolutamente imperdibile il polipo con crema di zucca, bufala, cicorielle e polpetta di rafano nonche' i ravioli di capesante e gamberi con crema di carciofi e granella di pistacchio.
Locale ben curato con coperti limitati e un'attenzione costante a mantenere alta la qualita' e a presentare sempre nuove proposte al cliente, come testimoniato anche dai menu' sempre differenti.

Antonello the chef is very good, he prepares truly special and good foods and always presents them in such a way as to also allow the view its part. I recommend the always varied and special appetizers. Very good even in the first ones. See you soon

Dall'esterno sembra una delle tante pizzerie/tavola calda gestite per sbaglio da qualcuno che un tempo faceva il meccanico e ad un certo punto ha deciso di cambiare vita.
Invece si tratta di un ristorante che non solo all'interno appare intimo, curato, studiato; ma che soprattutto è gestito da un ragazzo che si capisce dopo tre secondi essere un professionista appassionato e brillante. Ho mangiato benissimo: sia scegliendo à la carte (il pesce la faceva da padrona) sia lasciandomi consigliare dei fuori menu' tipici e gustosissimi. Carta dei vini interessante, si arriva persino all'estero. Prezzi medio/bassi rispetto alla media. 3 ore di macchina ben spese. Consigliato
